Glastonbury Ticket Resale Disaster: Fans Furious as Thousands Miss Out in Minutes!

Glastonbury fans were left raging after failing to buy resale tickets, which sold out in minutes.

The tickets for the highly-anticipated music festival ran out incredibly fast, being sold out in merely 20 minutes on Sunday, due to overwhelming interest.

Over the weekend, the official X account for Glastonbury shared a message following fan outrage over the unavailability of tickets.

This morning saw an extraordinary rush for tickets, as every single one available in today’s resale has already been purchased, according to the post.

‘Thank you to everyone who bought one, and sorry to those who missed out.’

It appeared that fans were deeply disappointed by the new system, as numerous individuals expressed concerns that it impacted their ability to secure tickets for the event at Worthy Farm.

In November, the organizers revealed updates to their ticketing procedure, including the adoption of an automated queue system.

Instead of constantly reloading a waiting screen, they will get ‘automatically enqueued’ when tickets become available. This implies that those joining after others will naturally find themselves at the end of the line.

The system is similar to the one used for major concerts by Taylor Swift, Coldplay and Oasis.

Through eliminating the requirement for continuous page updates, we lessen the burden on the ticketing system, potentially making the process more swift for users. Just like before, fans are required to register for their tickets ahead of time.

In conversation with X, someone penned down: ‘It seems you’re not regretful! In truth, I’m the one who is truly shedding tears. Devastated doesn’t even begin to cover it. Excellent work, artificial intelligence.’

A frustrated spectator suggested: “Bring back the old method for 2027, as this current setup is absurd. We’ve made four attempts without even coming close.

The British pop-rock band, the 1975, and American pop-punk artist, Olivia, are making their debut as main performers for the first time.

Matty Healy’s band has been announced as the headliner for the Friday evening performance on the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm.

Pop sensation Olivia, who graced the Other Stage in 2022, is set to be the main performer on the final night of the festival.

On Saturday evening, Canadian artist Neil takes the stage, with Charli XCX, Raye, and Doechii also set to perform.

Previously, Neil unintentionally revealed that he was planning to perform at the event on the 1st of January, as opposed to saying he would be ‘stepping back’ or ‘taking a break’, which hadn’t been verified beforehand.

He explained that the reason for this was because the event fell under the supervision of BBC’s corporate management. Since 1997, the Somerset festival has collaborated extensively with their sole broadcast partner, the BBC.

Later on, Neil acknowledged that he’d been given incorrect details, and he reaffirmed his intention to take the stage again, stating that it had been added back to his schedule.

Sir Rod Stewart was already confirmed for the coveted teatime legends slot on the Sunday.
