MasterChef’s Andre Ursini Admits He’s ‘Rusty’ Ahead of Dramatic 2025 Return!
Andre Ursini is set to make a surprising revelation prior to his anticipated comeback on MasterChef Australia, a competition he first appeared on 16 years back.
Known for his culinary skills, this 44-year-old celebrity rose to prominence in 2009 on Channel Ten and later earned multiple awards in the food industry. However, the TV personality and hospitality magnate recently admitted that he might need a bit of a refresher before making his comeback on television.
On Sunday, it was disclosed that since his rise to prominence, Andre seldom enters the kitchen and instead tends to delegate tasks due to managing his thriving restaurants, according to The Sunday Mail.
‘I haven’t cooked in a long time,’ Andre said.
Over time, my focus on expanding these ventures led me to spend less time in the kitchen. Now, I entrust many tasks to others, which has made my role more about supervising people and dealing with financial aspects rather than getting my hands directly involved.
‘Now I just want to concentrate on cooking again and have some fun—that’s my main agenda.’
Andre is set to return to the kitchen in the upcoming season of MasterChef Australia: Back to Win.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t contain my excitement! Just moments ago, the esteemed chef and restaurateur shared a tantalizing announcement on his Instagram – a sneak peek at the forthcoming season of that beloved cooking competition we both adore! The anticipation is palpable as I eagerly await the culinary masterpieces yet to unfold!
The preview features the dramatic moment he was booted off the show in season one.
‘I got eliminated on a Sri Lankan curry taste test,’ the Adelaide food guru said in the voice over.
Also included is new footage of a now bearded Andre working on a recipe.
‘I haven’t been in the MasterChef kitchen for about 16 years… bloody long time,’ he continued.
‘I’m back, time to start cooking again.’
He also teased his hopes for the new season.

‘I’ve ticked all my food creative goals, my work goals, my life goals,’ he said.
‘But I’ve never held that [MasterChef] trophy.’
As a devoted admirer, I’ve ventured into the culinary scene of South Australia, establishing a string of distinguished dining establishments. Among these is the renowned Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar in Adelaide, ORSO, Villetta Porcini, the enchanting Lost Phoenix Farm, and Willmott’s Gastronomia – each a testament to my passion for exceptional dining experiences.
I can hardly contain my excitement as rumors swirl about the potential return of Melissa Leong, a judge on MasterChef who left quite an impression on me!
A reliable insider claims that Melissa, aged 43, is making plans to rejoin the cooking competition series, but on condition that a different judge is not involved.
A TV source informed Daily Mail Australia that Melissa plans to return to MasterChef Australia once Andy Allen does.
It appears that Melissa might find it challenging or intimidating to go back to how the show originally was. The only scenario under which she might consider rejoining would be if there were significant changes to the entire show’s structure or format.
Last year, Melissa departed from MasterChef Australia amidst speculation of a potential dispute with her previous co-host, Allen, that cast a shadow over her exit.

After it emerged that Melissa experienced conflicts with crew members from Endemol Shine, who were working on MasterChef Australia in 2022, it was announced that she would not be part of the show’s cast any longer.
Melissa stunned followers by announcing her exit on Instagram, a day prior to the broadcasting company’s 2024 Upfronts presentation.
In a thrill I had long anticipated, I finally seized the moment to make the transition on my own accord, and let me tell you, it feels exhilarating! That’s what I expressed in an excited scribble back in October.
Meanwhile, affable Andy, 36, returned to the show in 2024 alongside three new judges.
As a passionate connoisseur of culinary arts, I’m thrilled to announce that renowned personalities such as Poh Ling Yeow, Jean-Christophe Novelli, and Sofia Levin – each a beacon in their respective fields of gastronomy – have graciously agreed to join our esteemed team. Together, we aim to bring you the most tantalizing food experiences from around the globe.
Melissa left the organization following allegations that her dismissal was due to a series of behind-the-scenes conflicts that received public attention.
In 2022, she was notoriously involved in a disagreement with both the regular hair and makeup crew and a temporary freelance stylist.
Or,
In 2022, there was a well-known incident where she argued with both the program’s permanent hair and make-up team as well as an on-call freelancer hairstylist.
