Daredevil: Born Again’s Finale Was Incredible, But Here’s What Season 1 Was Missing!
In full swing, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is delivering thrilling content to both movie theaters and streaming platforms like Disney+. For instance, the Marvel series “Daredevil: Born Again,” which just wrapped up its first season on Disney+, was no exception. While the finale was exceptional, it highlighted what could have made the rest of Season 1 even more impactful. Let’s dissect it all and see where improvements might have been made.
In the final episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 1, it was a thrilling installment, indeed lethally so. Matt Murdock once more donned his suit and teamed up with The Punisher to thwart Kingpin’s attempt at dominating the city. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Hell’s Kitchen’s steadfast hero in action, but it underscored the scant amount of true Daredevil moments we experienced throughout the season. Rather, much of the series focused on unmasked characters, with Charlie Cox appearing predominantly as lawyer Matt Murdock in most scenes.
Fervent viewers of Marvel movies, who have patiently followed the series chronologically, fondly remember the high regard in which the original “Daredevil” seasons were held during their Netflix stint. Following Charlie Cox’s appearances in “Spider-Man: No Way Home” and “She-Hulk: Attorney At Law,” fans eagerly anticipated Daredevil’s return to the forefront. However, despite the entertaining nature of “Born Again,” the titular superhero wasn’t given much screen time.

Indeed, it’s quite understandable why this could be the case. Essentially, the series “Daredevil: Born Again” underwent significant transformations during its production process. These alterations led to the version we eventually watched on Disney+. It’s plausible that Matt Murdock was costumed in scenes that were eventually cut, or the scarcity of superhero sequences could have been an unintentional consequence of these changes.
Regardless of the path taken, the Season 1 finale demonstrated just how incredible Daredevil can be at his peak. Here’s hoping that the second season provides a bit more of this intensity. Frankly, while I enjoy watching Matt confront peril head-on, I’m eager to see more of the masked vigilante.

To make it clear, I’d like to emphasize that despite a small desire for more superhero elements, I overall enjoyed the show Born Again, and I’m really looking forward to another season. As a devoted fan of the original series, I was thrilled to see the same gritty style incorporated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The crime drama aspect, especially with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Fisk, is captivating, but I yearned for slightly more superhero-centric scenes.
Since Cox’s unexpected appearance in No Way Home, fans have been eagerly anticipating more of him in future Marvel films and series. He donned an impressive yellow suit in She-Hulk, but Born Again was a reprisal of his character, albeit with less time spent as a vigilante.
The complete series “Daredevil: Reborn” is now available for streaming on Disney+. Up next from the shared universe is “Thunderbolts,” scheduled for release on May 2nd as part of the 2025 movie lineup. We’ll have to wait and see when we’ll get to see Charlie Cox’s superhero again.
