Olly Murs Cancels Gigs, Apologizes to Fans Amid Baby News

Olly Murs confessed he felt deeply saddened when he had to tell his audience that he needed to call off his concerts in Hull and Brighton.

40-year-old English singer shared a sad update on Instagram Stories following a stomach bug that affected both his band and support team, leaving them all in its wake.

In a thoughtful explanation, Olly – anticipating the arrival of his second child with Amelia – expressed regret for disappointing his followers and assured them that he’d be rearranging plans shortly.

He wrote: ‘I regret to inform you that I must postpone our upcoming shows in Brighton and Hull over the next two dates. I deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.’

It appears that the stomach virus I contracted last night has been spreading among our band and staff, leaving us unable to perform for you at this time due to its impact. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused.

We’re going to pause for two days so everyone can stay in good shape and maintain their health during the rest of the tour.

I appreciate your patience, and we’re doing our utmost to provide you with the new event dates at the earliest convenience. Warm regards, Olly x.

The latest news from the musician known as “The Troublemaker” follows his recent announcement, which brought joy to many, about the upcoming addition to his family – his second child.

11 months back, Olly and his spouse, Amelia, gave birth to their firstborn, Madison, in May. Last week, they shared on Instagram that they are expecting another baby soon.

On their Heart Radio program last Saturday, Olly discussed for the first time his experience of fatherhood once more. He confessed that he hadn’t anticipated it would happen so swiftly.

As his pal Mark congratulated him on the news, he asked the star how ‘buzzing’ he was.

Olly, who is 40 years old, responded saying, “Friend, I’ve had one of those weeks where things are so thrilling that it’s hard to share with others. It’s been fantastic news for the two of us!

We weren’t anticipating such swift developments, but wow, incredible! All we desire is to expand our small household.

Mark enthusiastically exclaimed, “You truly have much to be proud of! You’ve proven yourself to be the most exceptional parents Maddie could ever ask for, and now that you’re giving her a younger sibling, it’s simply remarkable. I adore you deeply, my friend, and I cherish your entire family. My excitement for you knows no bounds!

‘So I’m going to be at the start soon,’ Olly laughed.

Mark playfully remarked that you’ll find yourself in a situation similar to mine from a few weeks back, which means I can tease you about your upcoming sleepless nights.

In a charming black-and-white clip posted by Olly, a trio – dad included – strolled through the park, with sweet Madison perched atop her father’s shoulders.

In July 2023, Olly and his fitness partner, aged 32, got married. They joyfully shared the news that they had welcomed a baby girl into their family on April 17.

Just 48 hours after Amelia had given birth, the singer was back on tour supporting Take That.

At that moment, the performer shared with the audience about balancing diaper changes and sleepless nights, yet expressed feelings of guilt because he was working while being apart from home.

He mentioned that it has been an incredibly hectic period. After all, on one side, he is blessed with a lovely newborn daughter, while his wife is taking care of her at home, dealing with diapers and those endless sleepless nights.

‘And I’m on tour with Take That. I feel guilty!’
