Born X Raised Drops “State of Grace” Collection Alongside 2tone-Directed Short Film

Following the release of a festive collaboration line with Shoreline Mafia this month, Born X Raised is back with a new collection, christened “State of Grace.” This collection includes a short film directed by one of its co-founders, 2tone, called “River’s Edge.

The entire movie was filmed underwater, featuring Miranda July, an artist and director, along with the muses of BXR brand. 2tone posted the short video on the brand’s Instagram account, accompanied by a heartfelt note.

As one of the original founders of BXR, I have been an integral part of the company since its inception, playing a significant role in all artistic decisions throughout its entire history.

In this project I led, it references some Southern non-denominational cults and does not include any religious iconography. It wasn’t intended to offend or disrespect anyone’s religion or faith, nor was it done for shock value. I’m not qualified to engage in theological debates, so I won’t argue about it. If you’re familiar with our brand, you know we’ve been pushing boundaries for over a decade, and this isn’t anything new. At this point, I am the leader of a team that no longer has its other half, and my task is to guide us forward while still honoring our roots. As always, we will continue to take risks and aim high, just as we’ve always done.

In this production I oversaw, it references certain Southern non-denominational cults and lacks any religious symbols or design elements. The purpose was not to hurt or disrespect anyone’s religion or belief system, nor was it meant for sensationalism. I don’t feel competent to discuss theology, so I won’t engage in such discussions. If you follow our brand, you understand that we’ve been testing limits for more than a decade, and this isn’t anything out of the ordinary. At present, I am responsible for leading my team, which no longer includes its other half, and my goal is to move forward while still preserving our heritage. As usual, we will be taking chances and aiming high, just as we have in the past.

If none of what I mentioned seems relevant to you, that’s perfectly okay. I’ve shared my thoughts, and we’ll catch up at the meeting! In the meantime, feel free to explore the platform.

LOVE, 2TONE

P.S. WE HAVE SOME AMAZING SHIT IN THE PIPELINE SO STAY TUNED.
