In his first appearance as the new Captain America, Anthony Mackie is embarking on a journey that sets the stage for his future in Marvel films, with “Captain America: Brave New World” scheduled for release in 2025. As this film becomes available to a broader audience via home release, anticipation mounts and the response from fans will reveal their thoughts on this fresh installment within the MCU. Despite being absent at the grand premiere, Chris Evans, the previous Captain America, took the time to appreciate his friend’s performance, offering some encouraging words.
In a recent interview on E! News to publicize his new film titled “Sneaks”, Anthony Mackie discussed the feelings of his “Avengers: Endgame” co-star regarding the upcoming fourth installment of the solo series they both initiated. Given their hectic schedules, the conversation isn’t extensive as follows:
I recently received a message praising my work and expressing his enjoyment of the film. It’s been busy for us both, as we’ve been going at a fast pace. He’s currently in the midst of Europe, engrossed in work.
Friendships can be peculiar at times, particularly when there’s a buzz about a potential reunion, such as the Avengers: Doomsday gathering. In truth, the absence of communication seems to lend credence to Chris Evans’ denial of a return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making it appear more like unfounded speculation.
It’s quite likely that, given their summer blockbuster movie is in production now, they would be discussing things as they used to. However, since director Julius Onah’s Marvel sequel isn’t available on Disney+ yet, it’s significant that the actor from The Grey Man sought out to attend the premiere of his old friend’s debut.

At a minimum, it’s clear that the announcement of the cast for “Avengers: Doomsday” has confirmed Anthony Mackie’s involvement in the 2026 film. Given that Danny Ramirez, who is set to appear in the same picture as The Falcon, it’s not hard to imagine that Sam Wilson will have an opponent to face off against in this particular installment of the Marvel cinematic universe’s lineup of upcoming movies.
It’s quite possible that Mr. Evans will make an appearance towards the end of “Doomsday”, taking on a more significant role in 2027’s “Avengers: Secret Wars”. If this prediction is accurate, the actor from “Red One” may not be required on set until a later stage due to the planned production gap between “Doomsday” and “Secret Wars”.
It’s possible that, similar to Chris Evans secretly informing Anthony Mackie about his role in “Avengers: Endgame”, Anthony Mackie might soon pass on some news to Mr. Evans – if he hasn’t done so already. Perhaps with both of them working together again, they could have more opportunities to chat about the intricacies of how “Brave New World” resonated for the Star-Spangled Man with a Plan.
