Due to a 10% increase in tariffs on products imported from the European Union, Louis Vuitton (LV) has made the decision to boost the U.S. price of their Neverfull GM bag.
According to an article by Fashion Business, the widely-loved Neverfull GM bag has seen a 4.8% price rise compared to the previous week. The latest price for this item on Louis Vuitton’s American online store is $2,200 USD, which represents a $100 USD increase.
According to analyst Luca Solca at Bernstein, Louis Vuitton (LV) increased the prices of its handbags by 3.6%. Notably, though, certain items were exempted from this price hike since they could be produced in any one of LV’s three US-based workshops.
Louis Vuitton and LVMH reps have not commented on the matter.
Luxury brands like LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE are reportedly raising the prices of their products to offset tariffs imposed by the U.S., according to Business of Fashion. Cecile Cabanis, the Chief Financial Officer, mentioned that this pricing adjustment will affect each brand and product uniquely.
