Full Circle Developers debuted their inaugural ‘The Grind’ update for Skate, assuring fans that the game is slated for an early access release this year. Importantly, they clarified that it will operate exclusively online, without an offline mode.
The latest news states that the game and its urban setting are crafted as an ever-changing, dynamic open-world skateboarding platform that stays connected online. Expect larger developments, such as alterations to the cityscape over time, along with smaller ones like live occurrences and in-game activities. Given our aim for a thriving skateboarding universe, the game will consistently demand an active internet connection. This shouldn’t come as a shock if you’ve participated in our beta testing.
The Grind article likewise tackles the “odd” incorporation of microtransactions during the playtest, detailing that “San Vansterdam aims to be a dynamic skating environment, and we strive to maintain its development sustainably while ensuring a balanced and enjoyable gaming experience for all our players.
The studio aims to address any issues or problematic areas that may occur, all while delivering content that offers a reasonable worth to our players. They also mention that any money spent during the playtest will be converted into San Van Bucks (SVB) when Skate is re-launched for its early access in 2025.
