Just as Chandler was meeting Eddie for the first time, Joey decided he wanted to move back in with him. This timing might seem confusing, but it could actually work with the overall story. The show Friends isn’t very specific about dates and times, so it’s possible Joey started looking for help after talking to Phoebe and Monica – he didn’t want to ask Chandler directly because he was too proud.
