JLo’s Ex Charged with Illegal Marijuana Farm After Raid

One of Jennifer Lopez’s many exes has found himself in some legal hot water involving marijuana.

For approximately five years, this man was intermittently involved with a 55-year-old actress and singer. However, he ultimately decided to end their relationship permanently.

Over the passage of time, it has been revealed that my former partner was indicted for managing an unlawful marijuana cultivation site, as announced by the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office.

Who is this enigmatic “JLlo” ex? None other than Casper Smart, a man who once served as Jennifer Lopez’s backup dancer and dated her for five years.

He received two misdemeanor accusations: one for involvement in unauthorized commercial marijuana business activities, and another for conducting commercial marijuana activities without a temporary license application, according to TMZ.

The accusations originated from a law enforcement search of his residence towards the end of December 2024, following a report they received suggesting an illicit cultivation activity was taking place there.

In the course of the search, officials uncovered numerous signs suggesting a mid-scale cannabis cultivation operation.

At the time of the raid, there was indeed a woman visiting Smart, but neither she nor any link to the grow operation were mentioned in the citations.

At the time of the raid, he wasn’t arrested, but officers issued him a citation instead, allowing him to go home after the incident.

Information about the supposed scale of Smart’s cultivation facility is scant, but it appears to have surpassed the legal size limit set by the state of California.

Under California state regulations, individuals aged 21 and above are permitted by law to grow as many as six cannabis plants within or on their personal property’s grounds, as stated by the Los Angeles County Consumer & Business Affairs.

It appears that Smart may have had over six marijuana plants since they needed to be kept in a secured, hidden location away from public view.

Previously, Smart served as a backup dancer for Lopez. The two began dating in October 2011, shortly following J.Lo’s split with Marc Anthony which occurred around the same time.

They journeyed around the globe as a pair during their time together, and Smart shared stories of their worldwide adventures in a 2017 conversation with Entertainment Tonight.

He said they are still ‘friends’ and they have, ‘nothing but respect and love for each other.’

He found it exhausting yet delightful to traverse the globe in just half a year, and it was particularly wonderful to do so alongside someone special, sharing the experiences together.

In a different conversation, Smart acknowledged that at the time, he lacked maturity for the relationship, confessing, ‘I was quite immature and self-centered.’

He mentioned that he believed he was prepared for a relationship involving a woman who has children, specifically Jennifer – a reference to her twin sons Max and Emme, whom she shares with her former partner Marc Anthony.
