Knots Landing and Friday the 13th star dead at 63
Actress Lar Park Lincoln, renowned for her captivating portrayal of the cunning Linda Fairgate on Knots Landing, passed away at age 63.
In 1987, shortly after she made her debut on the soap opera, Lincoln also became a part of one of the most adored horror film series within the genre.
In 1988, she starred in the movie “Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood,” portraying a woman with telekinetic abilities who confronted the antagonist, Jason Voorhees.
For several years, she made appearances on well-known TV shows such as Murder, She Wrote, and became a regular on the home shopping network QVC.
Despite having fought off breast cancer for five years, during which she endured a total of 17 operations, the reason for her passing has yet to be revealed.
The Actors Audition Studios, a company she established in her birthplace Dallas, Texas, announced her demise on Thursday.
On their Facebook update, they shared that she is asking for privacy at this time. Instead of sending flowers, consider making a donation to either the SAG-AFTRA Foundation or The Entertainment Community Fund as an alternative gesture.
Lincoln hails from a military background in Dallas, and by the third grade, she had made up her mind about pursuing acting – a fact she shared with Icon Vs. Icon.
Initially, she made a name for herself in the modeling world, yet she had long harbored ambitions of becoming an actress. She appeared in advertisements and attended classes to perfect her craft, steadily working towards her goal of a career in acting.
In my professional journey, my defining moment arrived with the 1985 television film, “Children of the Night.” This captivating production delved into the life story of the founder of a genuine Los Angeles organization sharing the same name. This remarkable institution was established to save young women from the perils of underage prostitution and assist them in rebuilding their lives anew.
Lincoln reminisced about a role he played, portraying the life story of a young girl who was a teenage prostitute. This experience, he said, started him on his journey as an artist in 1985, teaching him that one cannot be an artist if they are constantly judging.
In the following two years, she secured a beloved character role on Knots Landing, portraying Linda Fairgate – a fiery, attractive woman with a relentless side.
Initially, Linda is wedded to Steve Shaw, who is identified as Eric Fairgate in the story, but she eventually departs from him and enters into a relationship with his brother Patrick Petersen, known as Michael Fairgate. However, her affections wander, leading her to be involved with multiple men, including her superior, William Devane’s character, Greg Sumner.
