On Thursday, Emma Willis stepped out in public for the first time following her disclosure that she had undergone minimally invasive heart surgery due to an unidentified heart ailment she had been dealing with.

49-year-old TV host radiated joy while snuggling with her spouse, Matt Willis, at the BAFTA TV Craft Awards nominees’ gathering held at The V&A in London.

Emma showed off her toned figure in a black bandeaux crop top and a dazzling patterned black suit. 

She was stunning, showcasing her well-toned midriff under a coordinating blazer and pants, while striking a pose on the crimson carpet.

Emma elevated her stature with a tall pair of heels, and adorned herself with a substantial silver chain necklace for added style.

In a chic, synchronized style, actor Matt (previously known as the “busted” star) harmonized with his beautiful spouse, both dressed in sleek black suits featuring open collars on their shirts.

The couple looked in good spirits as they posed together on the star-studded red carpet. 

At the moment, Nicola Coughlan appeared particularly smitten with her boyfriend Jake Dunn, whom she began dating towards the end of last year.

38-year-old actress from Bridgerton, who was accompanied by a 25-year-old actor, showcased an affectionate appearance on the red carpet for the first time as a pair.

Nicola donned an elegant, mini dress with a sleek black blazer and a train, featuring a striking netted bow as its focal point.

Standing tall in a pair of high heels, the actress from Netflix adorned the dress with some opaque stockings and held a handbag that complemented her ensemble.

Jake dressed smart for the night in a navy suit which he wore over a brown jumper and smart shirt. 

The couple met after being introduced by her Derry Girls co-star and close friend Louisa Harland.

After keeping their blossoming romance under wraps for several months, Nicola and Jake publicly acknowledged their relationship in October. This was following an incident where they were seen leaving a pub in North London, holding hands.

35-year-old Dianne Buswell (Strictly Come Dancing star) and her partner, Joe Sugg (age 33), were seen snuggling together while attending a high-end function.

The elegant dancer was breathtakingly beautiful, adorned in a white dress embellished with flowers, complemented by black heels and a stylish Gucci handbag.

Joe, who started dating Dianne after they both appeared on Strictly in 2018, wore a stylish khaki double-breasted jacket paired with a white top and black pants.

Ella Morgan wore an eye-catching, off-the-shoulder mini dress made of black velvet, adorned with striking silver flower embellishments that turned heads.

The TV personality rocked a pair of silver heels and toted her belongings in a matching clutch. 

Billie Piper stood out magnificently in a sleek, see-through trench coat dress of black, revealing a coordinating bodysuit hidden underneath.

The star wore a dramatic pair of gold drop earrings as she flashed her gorgeous smile for snaps. 

David Tennant made an eye-catching appearance on the red carpet, wearing a stylish black and gold butterfly-patterned blazer and coordinating shirt.

In the course of our recent discussions this past week, I found myself in a similar situation as Emma – unknowingly living with a condition all my life. Specifically, I discovered I had an undetected hole in my heart. Quite fascinating, isn’t it? It just goes to show that even when we think we know our bodies, there’s always more to learn about ourselves.

Sharing the news Emma admitted she was shocked to discover what was happening ‘in my body.’

It seems that for the past 48 years, I hadn’t realized there was a gap in my heart. Isn’t it incredible how much goes on within us without our knowledge… This is what I shared with my Instagram community.

I’m truly amazed by the marvels of contemporary medicine, as well as the incredible individuals who work tirelessly to heal, mend, and assist us daily.

A medical condition known as septal defects occurs when there’s a gap or opening between two of the heart’s chambers, similar to having a hole within the heart itself.

A birth defect affecting the heart known as an atrial septal defect occurs naturally, even though its exact cause remains unclear, as per the information provided by the National Health Service (NHS).

An Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) refers to a situation where there’s an opening or hole between the two upper chambers of the heart, specifically the left atrium and the right atrium. This hole allows some blood to bypass into the right side of the heart, causing it to expand and potentially enlarge over time due to increased volume.

Individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) might exhibit subtle symptoms, yet they may have a higher susceptibility to respiratory infections. In some cases, these infections could lead to breathing difficulties and even heart irregularities manifesting as a heart murmur.

A ventricular septal defect, or VSD for short, is a frequently seen type of heart condition that people are born with. This happens when there’s an opening between the two main pumping chambers in the heart – specifically, between the left ventricle and the right ventricle.

This implies that additional blood is directed from the left to the right ventricle through the hole, owing to the pressure disparity between these chambers. The excess blood then travels to the lungs, leading to increased pressure within the lungs and stretching of the left-side filling chamber.

Small holes often eventually close by themselves, but larger holes need to be closed using surgery.

Previously, Big Brother’s host Emma disclosed to her followers that she underwent a surgical procedure at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London not long ago.

In keyhole heart surgery, smaller cuts are made in the chest instead of opening up the breastbone, which is a characteristic of traditional open-heart surgeries.

Through the cuts made, the surgeon reaches the heart, enabling a minimally intrusive method that reduces complications and expedites healing.

In a long message, Emma expressed gratitude towards her husband Matt and the dedicated team at the Royal Brompton Hospital for their care.

Emma and Matt have been a couple for over two decades, and they’ve collectively raised three kids: Isabelle who is 15, Ace at the age of 13, and Trixie who is eight years old.

In the year 2008, they got married and are now nearing their twentieth wedding anniversary. Throughout the years, they’ve faced various challenges, among which was Matt’s battle with substance abuse involving drugs and alcohol.

Matt, a former member of the band Busted, shared with TopMob that couple’s counseling has been instrumental in him and Emma overcoming difficulties in their long-term relationship and moving forward.

In the year 2020, they began marriage counseling, a decision that initially met with some hesitation from Emma. However, despite her initial reservations, she has since come to appreciate the move, as it has significantly improved their marriage, bringing about a remarkable transformation in their relationship.
