Tencent Games has unveiled plans for an animated series based on their hit Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) game, Honor of Kings, titled Honor of Kings: Destiny. This announcement was made at the SPARK 2025 event, where they also announced that pre-registration for Honor of Kings: World is now open in China.

Honor of Kings: Destiny animated series is premiering next month on Crunchyroll

The highly anticipated animated show, “Honor of Kings: Destiny,” is slated to debut on Crunchyroll on May 31, 2025. I can hardly contain my excitement! The series will primarily focus on the well-loved character, Kaizer, with Luna and other interesting characters joining in as well.

In the game, Kaizer, who was once a noble, transformed into a formidable hero due to a family curse that drastically changed his life. I’m excited to uncover more about his past in this 3D animated series, particularly the events that led him to the Great Wall and how he came to be one of its protectors.

HoK Destiny looks promising with impressive visuals and animation

Based on the sneak peek, the animation appears stunningly well-done. The visuals are enthralling, and some spectators have remarked that the character design of Kaizer bears a striking resemblance to Vergil from Devil May Cry. If Tencent manages to deliver something remotely similar to what occurred with League of Legends following its show Arcane, it could potentially be a massive success.

It’s worth noting that they aren’t newcomers to the world of animation. Previously, they produced a short animated episode titled “The Way Of All Things” on Prime Video’s platform called “Secret Level”. This episode introduced the character of mid-laner Yi Xing and his background. In my opinion, Honor of Kings: Destiny has the potential to be successful if executed well.

Not only is this thrilling, but there’s more! The Honor of Kings game has partnered with the blockbuster Chinese animated film, Ne Zha 2, which earned a staggering $2.1 billion at the box office. Moreover, during SPARK 2025, Tencent announced that a new character inspired by the Three Warring States period will be added to the game.
