Overwatch 2 introduced a magical skin line and an enchanting story featuring the Heroes of Heart.

In the fresh storyline of DokiWatch comics, the Heroes of Heart embark on a mission to vanquish the ominous Hollow Hearts. Yet, as adversity piles up, their odyssey grows tougher. Will they manage to recover their missing allies or is it necessary to discover another courageous hero to carry on the battle?

DokiWatch comic: Looking for a new hero

The story opens at Château Guillard, the ancestral home of the Heroes of Heart and a familiar Overwatch location. Here, Kiriko and Brigitte are working together to reactivate a potent Magitech weapon, while Freja is on the hunt for any trace of their adversaries. Widowmaker issues a caution that the Hollow Hearts have already interfered with their operations, understanding that the team’s strength has been diminished by the departures of Hana and Angela. They are also vigilant, as they know that the group is in search of another hero to bolster their defenses against the Woe.

Who is Juno in the DokiWatch comic?

1. In the end, they located the girl, yet so did their adversaries. They now have to abandon their base and rescue her from imminent danger. At a later point, we find Juno wrestling with tasks at Lijiang Tower before heading to dinner with her mother. Juno is depicted as diligent and considerate, constantly assisting her coworkers. Upon her return to her mother’s side, however, she finds her unconscious. Attempting to revive her leads to an encounter with D.Va, who admits to poisoning everyone using Woe. She introduces herself as Nocturna from the Hollow Hearts, a name also associated with her skin in Overwatch 2.

Saved by the girls

As Nocturna prepared to seize Juno, it was at that very moment when the Heroes of Heart swooped in to save her. In other words, she had been rescued just in the nick of time. Following their victory against Nocturna, the group initiated a purification process for Juno’s mother to release her from the harmful influence. Without going into detail, they presented Juno with a weapon and promptly departed the scene. Unwilling to let them slip away, Nocturna was determined to stop them; however, to vanquish her, Juno needed to unlock her hidden power – a truth she was yet to comprehend. All she had to do was close her eyes, open her heart, and use the Magitech weapon to release her true power.

Juno’s true power in the DokiWatch comic

In a manner reminiscent to a Winx Club transformation, Juno found her true vocation and transformed into a Heart Hero. Yet, as they were nearing completion with Nocturna, Brigitte tried to touch Nocturna’s core, aiming to bring her back to headquarters. It is at this critical juncture that we uncover the truth: Nocturna was actually Hana. However, contrary to the expectations of the Heart Heroes, Hana had intentions other than returning to their ranks.

At nightfall, Nocturna takes flight in Lifeweaver’s embrace, a character from Overwatch 2 who isn’t part of the initial DokiWatch costume roster. This could imply that Lifeweaver will get a new skin in this universe shortly. Later on, everyone greets Juno and invites her to become the Heart of Hope within the Heroes of Heart team, mirroring the comic’s title. Now, she is regarded as one of the world’s saviors.

Xanthe Huynh as the narrator

The DokiWatch comic was narrated by Xanthe Huynh, who’s famous for voicing Juno. Her performance has been highly praised by gamers, who admire her ability to distinctly portray each character with different accents. Beyond video games, Xanthe is also known for her roles in various anime adaptations dubbed into English. You can read the comic here.

The DokiWatch comic provides an entertaining, artistic spin-off narrative that strengthens fans’ bond with the characters and demonstrates the multifaceted nature of the Overwatch universe. It introduces a creative and innovative spin to the Overwatch 2 mythos by merging key characters with a magical, parallel-universe plotline.
