Pedro’s sister Lux is also transgender, 32, after coming out and transitioning back in 2021.

Previously, the actor openly acknowledged that he fiercely guards his sister, and he has received applause from supporters due to his activism in support of the LGBTQ community.

In simpler terms, it has been decided by the judges that transgender women who possess a Gender Recognition Certificate may potentially be barred from single-sex locations when such exclusion is deemed reasonable or necessary.

This signifies the end point of a protracted legal dispute between the Scottish government and the women’s organization, For Women Scotland, regarding the interpretation of ‘woman’ in Scottish legal terms.

The question at hand pertains to whether an individual holding a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC), which acknowledges their self-identified gender as female, is entitled to anti-discrimination protection as a woman according to the Equality Act.

In simpler terms, the Scottish administration contended that individuals in question deserved protection based on their gender identity. This implies that a transgender individual who holds a Gender Recognition Certificate identifying them as female would be included when counting the number of women required to meet quotas.

But campaign group For Women Scotland claimed they only applied to people born female.

In simpler terms, the Supreme Court has decided that when referring to ‘sex’, ‘man’ or ‘woman’ in the Equality Act, these terms should be understood as biological sex. Any other interpretations were deemed as inconsistent and not feasible by the court.
