In the latest sneak peek for season 2, the secretive supernatural abilities of Pugsley are unveiled in the show Wednesday. These abilities share a link with another popular member of the Addams family. The powers of the characters from the Addams family, particularly those in Netflix’s spinoff, are given more importance in this adaptation than in previous versions. This unique portrayal of the eccentric characters highlights their substantial heritage at Nevermore Academy, an institution for misfits. Yet, not all the supernatural abilities of the Addams family members were delved into before the end of season 1.

In the first season, Wednesday Addams discovered and managed her emerging psychic abilities as she embarked on her initial year at Nevermore Academy. It was around their fifteenth birthday that Wednesday and her mother, Morticia, both developed these psychic talents. Since Pugsley is a couple of years younger than Wednesday, he hadn’t yet uncovered his powers during season 1. However, the time leap before Wednesday season 2 seems to have brought Pugsley to the same age as Wednesday was at the beginning of the series. Now that Pugsley has joined Wednesday at Nevermore Academy, he’ll be refining his unique new powers throughout season 2.

In the latest trailer for season 2 of “Wednesday,” we catch a sneak peek of Pugsley demonstrating his powers. While traveling to Nevermore Academy, Pugsley is shown producing electricity from his fingertips, much like Uncle Fester Addams does. Given that Wednesday has inherited Morticia’s psychic vision ability and Pugsley appears to have taken on the psychic electricity-based talents of his uncle, it seems that the unique powers within the Addams family might manifest differently based on the gender of the individual. As we are yet to discover Gomez’s abilities, his powers could provide additional insights into how these psychic abilities are passed down through generations in the Addams family.

At Nevermore Academy, where both Pugsley and Wednesday belong to an unusual psychic class, their unique talents make their experiences at the school all the more captivating. Specifically, Pugsley needs specialized training to develop his capacity for generating electricity, whereas Wednesday’s journey will involve mastering and pushing the limits of her visionary abilities. In the second season of Wednesday, we could explore what might have happened if Pugsley, who shares Uncle Fester’s powers, had attended Nevermore Academy instead of Gomez. This storyline in season 1 reveals that only Gomez was able to go to Nevermore, which played a significant role in their divergent paths – Fester becoming a criminal mastermind and Gomez a successful lawyer. Since they didn’t receive training from Nevermore, Fester had to discover alternative methods to harness his powers for financial gain.

In a different take: Without a shadow of a doubt, Nevermore won’t fail to guide Puglsey towards using his abilities more lawfully – they’ll show him how to use them for the greater good. Meanwhile, since Pugsley shares the same powers as Uncle Fester, it’s safe to assume that Fred Armisen’s character in Wednesday will be thrilled to impart some of his old techniques to his nephew. Consequently, Pugsley will need to juggle his uncle’s unconventional electricity-focused instruction with the lessons at Nevermore Academy during season 2 of Wednesday.
