Calling Lucifer fans! Tom Ellis lands lead role in new crime series

Actor Tom Ellis, who plays the starring role in Lucifer, has secured a leading part in a fresh crime series produced by CBS. He will be joining an already popular TV franchise.

According to TVLine, Ellis is now part of the cast for a new show titled CIA, which belongs to CBS’ FBI franchise that encompasses FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, and various documentaries.

The show, previously known as FBI/CIA, focuses on two agents – one from the FBI and another from the CIA. Reports suggest that Ellis will portray a quick-witted, rule-bending CIA officer with a reputation for being unconventional. As for the character of the FBI agent, who is described as experienced, intelligent, and strict in adhering to regulations, has yet to be filled.

When these two unlikely partners are stationed at the CIA’s New York office, they need to collaborate to tackle cases and criminals endangering American soil. Interestingly, they discover that their contrasting qualities might just turn out to be their greatest asset.

It’s anticipated that the debut of the series titled “CIA” will take place next year. According to reports from Deadline, the show is rumored to be penned by Dick Wolf, David Hudgins, Nicole Perlman, and former CIA officer David Chasteen. Initially, it was intended to introduce this spin-off within the main “FBI” series, but that concept has been dropped.

As a passionate gamer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming CIA series, although it’s not quite ready for our TV screens just yet. However, I did have the privilege of working on Lucifer, a show that was given a new lease of life thanks to my involvement. You see, back in 2018, Fox decided to cancel Lucifer, but I played a part in saving it. My efforts paid off when Netflix stepped in and picked up the series, giving us all more episodes to enjoy!

He reminisced about making his way to Heathrow Airport, then mentioned receiving a message from BBC Newsnight. This was followed by him sharing how they had taken note of the online fan campaigns in support of the show.
