Lizzo’s Shocking Weight Loss: Has She Sold Out?
Last week, when Lizzo shared images on social media showing her in almost transparent pink lingerie, her followers couldn’t help but notice that she appeared to have significantly reduced her body size compared to before.
Over the past few months, a well-known singer and flutist who was previously seen as an emblem of inclusivity, diversity, and body positivity, has undergone such a significant weight loss that it’s hard to recognize her anymore.
And that, insiders tell the Daily Mail, is exactly how she wants it.
As a lifestyle advisor, I’d like to share an insightful perspective on Lizzo’s recent transformation. It’s not just about a straightforward health makeover; rather, it seems to be a determined effort on her part to break free from the shadows of her professional past.
According to a source familiar with the singer, by losing weight and reinventing herself – including changes in behavior and style – she feels like she’s stepping into a new identity, one where the turmoil of her past may no longer haunt her.
The significant event you’re referring to transpired during the summer season of 2023, coinciding with the peak of the musician’s popularity.

Stunningly, four ex-employees have made allegations against Lizzo, aged 36, for behavior that includes sexual, racial, and religious misconduct, as well as fostering an unpleasant work atmosphere. These accusations arise from two distinct instances.
The dancers Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez alleged that she forced her staff to consume bananas that appeared to resemble female genitalia during their evening in Amsterdam, along with other misconduct claims.
In September 2023, next month, Asha Daniels, the pop star’s stylist, alleged that Lizzo fostered a work environment with inappropriate sexual tension and potential risks.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I must clarify that Lizzo firmly refutes any allegations of misconduct. Although the dancers’ lawsuit remains active, she was dismissed as a defendant in Daniels’ case back in December.
But, despite her best efforts, the damage had been done – her hard-won reputation was marred.
Over these past two years since the storm swept through my life, I, an unwavering fan, have witnessed Lizzo’s tireless crusade for transformation. This isn’t just about refining her persona; it’s a relentless pursuit to reshape and redefine her image in the public eye, aiming for redemption and renewal.
As a die-hard admirer, I’ve heard whispers that she’s been distancing herself from those dear to her, choosing instead to channel her energy into transforming herself into a stunningly beautiful Black Barbie, just like the iconic Beyoncé. It seems she aspires to be Queen B herself.
In my professional opinion, I’ve made a conscious effort to distance myself from the public image associated with the allegations against me, aiming to redefine who I am and what I stand for.
The significant reduction in weight presents a transformative shift for a performer, as she has built a considerable portion of her public identity and personal brand around embodying body positivity, standing firm against critics, and motivating others to follow suit.

In 2020, she claimed that TikTok was practicing ‘body shaming’ by saying, “TikTok frequently removes my videos where I’m wearing swimsuits. Yet, they allow other videos with girls in swimsuits. It makes me wonder why, TikTok… we should discuss this.
When people criticized her for wearing a dress without a backside and a thong to an NBA game, she responded by tweeting, “Always stand firm and never allow anyone to hinder or embarrass you from being true to yourself.
It appears she consistently embodied her teachings, as her dance group, The Big Grrls, exclusively features plus-size dancers – a nod to her 2015 second studio album, Big Grrrl Small World. Simultaneously, the tour company at the heart of two legal disputes bears the name Big Grrrl Big Touring, Inc.
However, it appears that she has decided to step away from the big grrrl community, following reports that three of her dancers took her by surprise by suing her.
Instead, they say, ‘She is determined to have a skinny girl summer.’
Lizzo has been as open about her diet and exercise journey as she was about body positivity.
In September, as people speculated she was using the weight loss drug Ozempic, she playfully commented on her Instagram, “After five months of weight training and caloric restriction, I’m now facing Ozempic accusations!
In January, she posted a snapshot of her health data, revealing that her Body Mass Index (BMI) decreased by 10.5 points, and she shed 16% of her overall body fat since embarking on her fitness trip in January 2024.

But her new fixation on weight loss has left a bitter taste in the mouths of some close to her.
According to a source, throughout her entire professional journey, she consistently emphasized that large is attractive and encouraged women to embrace and love their physical selves as reported by the Daily Mail.
To those who’ve known her for years, it seems like she’s merely embodying the very opposite of what she swore she wouldn’t become after a decade.
They pointed out that what she’s not aware of is another term for this situation: a sell-out. What happened was she conformed to the expectations of the industry, sacrificing her authentic self in the process. This decision won’t come without its repercussions.
For her part, Lizzo doesn’t seem worried.
In the title of an Instagram post from September, she expressed her opinion about her appearance unequivocally by posting a collage showing her before and after losing weight, accompanied by the phrase, “I’m good either way.
But those close to her are concerned that her radical rebrand will alienate her fan base.
They’re left pondering: Could it be that the ‘Big Grrrl Small World’ celebrity ends up as a little girl navigating through a vast world on her own?
