David Harbour’s Red Guardian Swipes Right to Spark Thunderbolts* Hype on Tinder!

Despite the passing of the day that precedes it, it appears as though the Red Guardian from the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe blockbuster is already smitten before its release, as hinted in the latest promotional material where David Harbour’s character seems to be captivated by the idea of being “struck by love” on Tinder.

User @good4lrh (via DiscussingFilm) recently posted a screenshot of Alexei Shostakov’s Tinder profile, advertising his projects and the upcoming release of “Thunderbolts”. In the ad, he promises that, similar to his Red Guardian limo service, “Thunderbolts” will shield you from dull evenings.

As the release of Thunderbolts approaches on the big screen, Red Guardian has been pulling out all the stops with an aggressive marketing campaign. This popular character has inspired several popcorn bucket designs that moviegoers can collect when they visit theatres, all in an effort to build excitement for the upcoming film.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Red Guardian, similar to Captain America, first appeared in the 2021 film “Black Widow”. This movie delved into his paternal bonds with Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova. The upcoming film “Thunderbolts*” brings back Shostakov and Belova, and its director, Harbour, has teased exciting aspects of the movie. He was left impressed by an early version he saw, stating to Cinema Blend, “I’m really looking forward to you seeing Thunderbolts* because I think the direction they took it in is impressive and surprising. It’s a genuine film. Whether you end up liking it or not remains to be seen, but I saw a cut of it, and it’s quite impressive.

In this new scenario, Red Guardian collaborates with Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell), and others at the request of CIA director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan). This assemblage, once known as villains, is tasked with a perilous mission to redeem themselves for their past misdeeds. The team, referred to as the Thunderbolts, encounters the Golden Guardian (Lewis Pullman), who shares similar circumstances. Both the Thunderbolts and Sentry will appear in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday,” where they’ll join forces with Doctor Doom, portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., to fight an epic battle against the reconstituted Avengers team.
