Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires Teases Vampires and Daywalkers!

Once again, zombies have returned! The latest addition to the series, called “Zombies 4: Twilight of the Vampires,” has recently undergone a significant upgrade.

The zombie series has been a smash hit on Disney Channel ever since its initial episode aired in 2018. The musical is inspired by the un-aired pilot “Zombies & Cheerleaders” written by David Light and Joseph Raso, and the second to last film, “Zombies 3,” was released approximately three years ago. A sneak peek of the upcoming movie titled “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampire” has been unveiled, and it is set to air on Disney Channel on July 10, with a release on Disney+ following the next day, according to recent updates.

In this rephrased version: The 35-second sneak peek brings back fan-adored characters Milo Manheim and Meg Donnelly as the beloved zombie-cheerleader duo Zed and Addison. Yet, it also presents fresh challenges with fresh faces: Freya Skye and Malachi Barton playing Nova, a formidable Daywalker, and Victor, a proud Vampire. Additionally, the trailer and launch date are accompanied by a fresh poster for the fourth edition, showcasing Manheim and Donnelly.

Initially, the first three “Zombies” films focused on characters Zed and Addison, who worked to unite humans and monsters in their town, Seabrook. In the fourth movie, they embark on a fresh journey with increased risks during their summer vacation, where they find themselves caught in another conflict: Daywalkers versus Vampires. As camp counselors, they attempt to maintain peace between these two monster groups. Furthermore, this film is the first in the series to feature a subtitle.

In simple terms, the fourth part of this franchise storyline finds Zed and Addison going on a road trip following their first year in college. Along the way, they stumble upon the contrasting realms of Sunnyside and Shadyside and cross paths with Nova, Victor, Vera, Ray, and Vargas during their summer escapades. This encounter leaves both supernatural beings such as zombies, werewolves, and aliens amazed by the arrival of two new supernatural groups.

Who Returns to Zombies: Dawn of the Vampires?

Beyond Donnelly, Manheim, Barton, and Skye, the talented cast of “Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires” includes me, Kylee Russell, portraying Eliza; Chandler Kinney in the role of Willa; Julian Lerner as Ray; Swayam Bhatia as the intriguing character, Vera; Mekonnen Knife bringing Vargas to life; Lisa Chappell embodying the Eldress of Vampires; and Jonno Roberts stepping into Commander Bright’s shoes.

In the upcoming release, we have nine freshly composed tunes to look forward to, along with two beloved tracks from past versions, “Someday” and “Ain’t No Doubt About It.” Additionally, you can expect exciting dance routines choreographed by Dondraico Johnson, accompanied by Tom Howe’s score. Previous installments’ director, Paul Hoen, will be at the helm for this new production.

Among all the movies I’ve enjoyed, the “Zombies” films, just like “Descendants,” have truly stood out. As Disney announced, these Zombies movies gathered nearly a quarter of a billion streaming hours, making them one of the most watched Disney Channel Original Movie franchises on Disney+.

Apart from the movies, two animated series were spawned as well – “Zombies: Addison’s Lunar Enigma” and “Zombies: Addison’s Creature Quest,” initially debuting as a collection of short animations on October 16, 2020. Additionally, another series titled “Zombies: The Re-Vitalized Saga” premiered on June 28, 2024, with a new season scheduled for release in the future.

The fourth installment of the Zombies series, titled “Zombies 4: Twilight of the Vampires,” is set to debut on Disney Channel on July 10. On July 11, it will also be available for streaming on Disney+.
