I’m so excited! Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair just smashed records on Disney+ and Hulu! Apparently, the reboot is the most-watched season premiere of the year – 2026, can you believe it? It’s awesome to see so many people are as hyped about the show as I am.
Frankie Muniz returns as Malcolm in Life’s Still Unfair, a new series that catches up with him as a 40-year-old. He’s become estranged from his family, including his demanding mother Lois (Jane Kaczmarek), goofy father Hal (Bryan Cranston), and siblings Francis (Christopher Kennedy Masterson), Reese (Justin Berfield), Dewie (Caleb Ellsworth-Clark), and Kelly (Vaughan Murrae).
When Malcolm returns home for his parents Hal and Lois’s 40th anniversary, things quickly get chaotic. He brings his daughter, Leah, and his girlfriend, Tristan, along with him.

The four-part series launched on Disney+ and Hulu on April 10th and quickly attracted a large audience. Disney reported (through Variety) that it reached 8.1 million views worldwide in its first three days.
Disney+ is reporting a strong start for the revival of Malcolm in the Middle in Latin America. The premiere drew 3.6 million viewers in the region, making it the second most-watched season premiere on the platform, surpassed only by the first season of Loki.
What to Read Next
The recent buzz around the new Malcolm in the Middle content has also brought renewed attention to the original series. Last week, views of the original Malcolm in the Middle jumped by 107%, adding up to 18 million more hours of watch time compared to the previous week.

Recent episodes featured a fun crossover with Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things. According to the show’s creator, Linwood Boomer, Wolfhard is a huge fan of Malcolm in the Middle and actually requested a visit to the set. This led to him appearing in a cameo role as Wayne, the planner for Lois and Hal’s anniversary party, as reported by Deadline.
I’m so excited! They’ve added the revival of ‘Malcolm in the Middle’, called ‘Life’s Still Unfair’, to Disney+ here in the UK and Hulu over in the US. And even better, you can also watch all seven seasons of the original show on those same platforms!
