Hilary Swank’s Secret to Staying Fit at 50: Tennis, Pilates, and Baby Squats
At the age of 48, Hillary Swank joyfully gave birth to twins, and she continues to excel in her career as an actress, having earned two prestigious Best Actress Academy Awards.
Besides successfully juggling her demanding career with motherhood, Hilary additionally prioritizes a fitness and nutrition routine that preserves her stunning physique.
The actress, aged 50, acknowledges that she enjoys the luxury of shaping her own work schedule, and regularly stocks her refrigerator with protein-rich and dairy-free foods.
Hillary shared that, upon becoming a mother, her workout routine temporarily took a step back, yet she’s now resuming her regular fitness activities again.
She mentioned that when her twin children, Aya and Ohm (age 2), are taking their naps, she usually takes advantage of this time by reading a script while on the treadmill, engaging in a strength training workout, or even grabbing a tennis racket to play a game.
She shared with Women’s Health UK that her current fitness routine consists of playing tennis and practicing Pilates. Previously, she was engaged in three weekly sessions of strength training, which she genuinely enjoyed due to the sense of stability it gave her physically.

Hillary mentioned that locating a nearby fitness coach in Washington has proven challenging for her since she divides her time between there and Colorado.
She’s optimistic that setting up exercise equipment at home will aid her in sticking to her fitness routine.
Hilary shared that she follows a mostly vegetarian diet, except for when her neighbors hunt elk and share the meat with her.
The star considers food as a source of energy, and expresses it this way: “I always remember to eat for nourishment – choosing what makes me feel great and provides me with the necessary energy.
Sharing the foods she usually consumes throughout a regular day, Hilary disclosed that her mornings kick off with oatmeal once her twins awaken early, followed by a sort of mid-morning meal around 11 a.m.
Typically, lunch consists of a protein-rich fish salad, but she mentioned that she no longer consumes tuna due to its high mercury content. Instead, her preference is a sardine dish with hummus, onions, and celery.
She said: ‘I put that on some sourdough bread with vegan cheese. It’s so good and so good for you.’
Later on, Hillary opts for a protein shake, a protein bar, or a mix of nuts and fruits as an afternoon nibble.

As a die-hard foodie, I’m always looking forward to my meals! Dinners are usually more substantial, often featuring an exquisite elk burger or a flavorful Indian dish that takes me on a gastronomic journey. To wrap up my day, I either whip up another protein shake, savoring the rich nutrients it provides, or indulge in a bowl of creamy coconut yogurt topped with crunchy granola, perfect for satisfying my sweet and healthy cravings!
Hillary and her second spouse, Philip Schneider, marked the second birthdays of their child and boy recently.
In 2016, during the month of November, the pair who had been wed for six years, commonly referred to as ‘Philary’, first crossed paths on a blind date.
It came five months after she ended her three-month engagement to former tennis pro, Ruben Torres.
Hilary’s prior eight-year marriage to her Quiet Days in Hollywood co-star Chad Lowe ended in 2007.
In a unique blend, the actress from “The Ordinary Angels” manages to lift both Aya and Ohm using her arms simultaneously, all while executing three sets of eight ‘baby’ squats during her performance.
‘Working out for me is really lifting two 25lb babies,’ Hilary noted.
This is a lower body exercise focusing on squats, but it also works my arms. Honestly, they feel bigger than they have been since the movie Million Dollar Baby. However, I still need to focus on toning my rear end and triceps more. If only I could lift these weights with just my triceps, that would give me a complete workout!
