Wednesday Season 2: Jenna Ortega in Trouble Sparks Hope for Release

In the latest sneak peek for Netflix’s Wednesday Season 2, Jenna Ortega was portrayed as being restrained and confined.

Following Wednesday’s overwhelming success atop the streaming charts in November 2022, there’s been a lot of speculation surrounding the release date for Season 2. With Netflix remaining tight-lipped about any details, fans have eagerly been sharing their own guesses as to when the new season might air.

At present, we only have one piece of verified news about Season 2 of Wednesday, which is that it will start streaming at some point in the current year. Although no specifics have been revealed yet, a recent update from the show might spark optimism among fans, hinting at a potential return of the series sooner rather than later.

A recent update on Netflix’s Wednesday social media platforms hinted that the anticipated second season might be moving forward towards a potential 2025 release. The posts included fresh media symbols and logos designed for the upcoming season, primarily showcasing various pictures revolving around the letter “W”.

Initially, you’ll spot the first letter “W” enclosed within a shimmering blue orb reminiscent of crystals. This design element is a nod to the traditional crystal balls often featured in TV shows about witchcraft, such as Wednesday, symbolizing their use for communication with other realms or homes.

The second “W” takes its design from Wednesday’s dorm room at Nevermore University, which she co-habits with Enid Sinclair, a character introduced in early Season 2 promotional content (Emma Meyers portrays her). The window depicts a colorful stained glass divide; the left side is vibrant for Enid, while the right side is darker, featuring black and grey tones.

In numerous episodes of Season 1, the third and last “W” key was prominently featured, serving as a significant prop on Wednesday, positioned right in the center of a typical keyboard layout.

Moreover, the series X’s account displayed a Season 2 banner on its side, showcasing Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams alongside Thing, the familiar severed hand connected to the Addams family.

In the picture, Ortega is seated, tied down by a rope, and the mysterious entity called ‘Thing’ rests its hand on her left shoulder. Despite her makeup running profusely, she maintains her customary composed demeanor.

Remarkably, the Ortega banner on X’s account was taken down just a short while after it went up on Wednesday.

Wednesday is one of nearly a dozen Netflix shows set to deliver new seasons this year.

When Will Netflix Finally Release Wednesday Season 2?

Looking at the latest images shared on Wednesday’s social media platforms instills optimism among viewers, as it suggests that the release date could be approaching soon.

In September 2024, we got our first glimpse at Season 2. Then, in January 2025, there was a brief hint about Wednesday, along with a collection of upcoming shows from Netflix for that year. Despite these previews, neither update provided any clue as to when the new episodes would be available on Netflix.

It’s uncertain when the new season will be out for fans; they might not get a clearer picture until the first trailer comes out.

2025’s Netflix release calendar indicates that it might take some time before we see the second season of ‘Wednesday’ as they aim for an even distribution of new content throughout the year.

On June 27, we’ll see the premiere of Squid Game Season 3, while the release dates for shows like The Witcher and Black Mirror are yet to be confirmed. As for Wednesday, it seems there’s a similar level of anticipation regarding its release timeline. Fingers crossed that these newly-released images indicate an official announcement isn’t too far off!
