Internet personality and streamer Imane “Pokimane” Anys faced criticism from some online users following the publication of a selfie. Critics commented that her behavior was childish, but Pokimane expressed her opinion that such comments were foolish.

The article has received more than 12 million views within just a few days of being published. Yet, despite its simplicity, the quotations it contained were anything but ordinary.

In the multitude of quotes, there were some criticizing Pokimane for not behaving her apparent age. A quote from user @silliesttwtuser, saying “acting like a grown-up,” has garnered nearly 5 million views and 114,000 likes.

“Even though I am 28 years old, I still love being wholesome like a puppy.”

“Just wanted to remind you that I’m a grown woman by the way.

Pokimane’s response: I don’t care about the comments

In response to her selfie, Pokimane acknowledged the reaction directly through a post on X, labeling those who reacted as ‘odd individuals.’ She furthermore comforted and supported her fellow women.

Recently, I’ve encountered an unusual surge of comments about my age, which seems amusing to me. Frankly, I find it rather silly. At 28 years old, I’ve never been happier, wealthier, wiser, or more self-assured than I am now, and this truth only grows stronger with each passing year. 🙂

Though I don’t let comments bother me personally, I am concerned about the influence they might have on other girls and women who may witness this kind of harassment. To them, I want to offer reassurance that things get better as we age. Living a life aimed at satisfying insensitive people is what can make you miserable, not growing older itself!
