On Monday morning, I had the pleasure of being a guest on Live With Kelly and Mark. During our chat, we delved into my recent relocation to Europe.
50-year-old celebrity, currently starring in “Searching for Spain,” divides her days between Mexico and Spain alongside her husband José Bastón and their five-year-old boy, Santiago.
Originally from Corpus Christi, Texas and boasting Spanish ancestry, Longoria shared that she felt particularly attracted to the Andalusia region in Spain.
She really likes going to those places by the beach, known as chiringuitos – they offer tapas and drinks, making them popular spots for locals and tourists alike.
As a frequent traveler, I can confidently say that I’m intimately acquainted with that particular region, having visited it for over two decades.
Previously known Desperate Housewives actress additionally touched upon the demise of Pope Francis, following her online homage to the cherished religious leader.


She shared a memorable story of meeting him two months before her 2016 wedding to José.
She reminisced, “It was truly lucky for me to encounter him. In fact, he bestowed a blessing on Pepe and myself just before our wedding.
Eva explained that she and her husband visited Rome, and when he asked if she wanted to meet the Pope, she enthusiastically agreed.
She had been diligently memorizing the Spanish term for ‘holiness’ prior to encountering the first Pope of Latin origin who spoke Spanish.
However, when the time arrived for her to speak, she amusingly switched back to English, addressing him with a polite “Hello, Your Holiness.
On Monday morning, Longoria took to her Instagram account to post pictures from the memorable event, accompanied by an emotional message.
She paid tribute by saying, “May you find eternal rest, Your Holiness Pope Francis. We are grateful for your support and advocacy on behalf of so many, especially those who were overlooked. May your empathy, gentleness, and humility forever remain in our memories.



Her post has so far collected more than 230,000 likes from her 10.4 million followers.
Eva has been keeping herself occupied by publicizing her upcoming ‘Searching for Spain’ series, set to air on CNN starting from April 27.
As she sets out on a culinary journey, she will discover these connections as she travels to Madrid, San Sebastian, Barcelona, Seville, and beyond. Along the way, she’ll uncover unique treasures and experiences that have earned Spain a special place in her heart, which she’ll eagerly share with us.
Four centuries ago, my ancestors bid farewell to the Spanish lands, a fact I learned from the debut trailer unveiled in February, which was eloquently narrated by none other than Eva herself.
‘Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for the new world and new life,’ she said.
Four centuries on, she playfully hinted at returning to observe if the region and its inhabitants had crafted one of the globe’s most enthralling culinary scenes after all this time.
