Ready or Not sequel adds Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood to cast

Actors Sarah Michelle Gellar and Elijah Wood will be taking on parts in the forthcoming horror movie sequel, titled “Ready or Not 2“.

Titled “Ready or Not: Here I Come“, the freshly unveiled cast comprises renowned horror director David Cronenberg, Shawn Hatosy known for his role in “The Pitt”, and Kevin Durand famed for his part in “The Dark Knight”.

Actors known for their roles in “Buffy” and “The Lord of the Rings” are expected to team up with Samara Weaving, who will re-embark on her character Grace from the 2019 film “Ready or Not”, as well as Kathryn Newton – a role that was previously announced.

Searchlight Pictures unveiled their fresh cast through a video on social media, showing the newly-added actors as playing cards arranged around a table.

The filming for the upcoming sequel has started, with Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett back on board as directors once more.

Additionally, the original authors, Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy, will be penning the follow-up as well (according to Variety)).

This is for those who’ve been eagerly anticipating it, as well as those who might not have seen it coming.

According to the official summary, the initial movie centers around a young bride who ventures into her newlywed husband’s affluent and peculiar family. In this longstanding custom, a harmless tradition transforms into a deadly competition where each participant battles for their own life.

Earlier, we discussed how the movie concludes with Grace fleeing from the wicked family. However, producer Chad Villella disclosed that the ending was initially planned to be quite different.

In a conversation with Bloody Disgusting, he mentioned that the original ending of the script was quite different and significantly darker than what it eventually became.
