Ben Affleck’s Secret Dates: Was Matchmaker Hired to Find Him New Love?

Few people know Ben Affleck better than Matt Damon.

For a long time, friends from Massachusetts have known each other since their youth, making it completely normal for them to lend support during challenging times like helping out as a wingman after a friend’s divorce.

However, it appears that the task in question has been assumed by Damon’s wife, Luciana Barroso. She is reported to be keeping a keen eye out for potential matches for her 52-year-old friend, following his very public breakup with Jennifer Lopez, who is also 55 years old.

According to our source, Ben has gone on a few quiet dates, yet hasn’t found any romantic spark so far. Ben has informed both Luciana and Matt that he requires additional time, but Luciana is already arranging possible matches for him, hoping to see if there could be a connection between Ben and these individuals.

After being named the Sexiest Man Alive by the public, it’s unlikely that Affleck will struggle to find a new romantic partner.

It’s worth noting that, being one of Tinseltown’s leading charmers, his past relationships span a range of captivating women. These include the Bond girl Ana de Armas, Playboy model Shauna Sexton (who was more than two decades younger), and producer Lindsay Shookus from Saturday Night Live. Just last week, rumors surfaced that he might be interested in Angelina Jolie.

He carries some personal issues, and has a tendency to be quite grouchy, which might not make him the most straightforward person to find a suitable partner for.

He was previously married to Jennifer Garner, where they share three children together. More recently, he experienced a tumultuous marriage with Lopez, attempting but ultimately not succeeding in making it last permanently for a second time.

Supporters of ‘Bennifer’ found themselves reminiscing about Affleck and Lopez back in early 2021 as whispers of an unexpected reunion surfaced. They officially confirmed their relationship status on Instagram in July of the same year.

In just a few short weeks, Affleck was seen once again with Garner, this time while playing paintball. Footage of the event, obtained exclusively by The Daily Mail, fueled speculation that their relationship could be rekindling. It appears they’ve stayed connected ever since.

As an ardent admirer putting words to my feelings, I can only imagine what it must have been like for Lopez when she experienced the most challenging period of her life – a breakup that felt as if my entire universe had shattered into a million pieces.

Later on, Affleck finally spoke up about their unsuccessful get-together, emphasizing that it wasn’t due to any scandal, dramatic soap opera plot, or secretive intrigue, but rather he found discussing the breakup awkward and exposed.

He mentioned to GQ recently that the reality is actually quite ordinary compared to what most might imagine or find intriguing.

‘The narrative simply explores the common struggles people face when navigating their personal lives and interpersonal connections, much like how we all typically deal with such situations.’

The former couple often disagreed on how he managed his fame over many years, given that his personality leans more toward being reserved and private compared to hers. In any relationship, there can be differences in attitudes regarding such matters.

The producer who won a Golden Globe was supported by Damon, aged 54, and the less public Barroso, aged 48, during his divorce proceedings. Affleck was seen affectionately kissing Barroso on the head as they entered a meeting in Los Angeles in September, and in December, they were photographed having lunch together.

Barroso, who is friends with the actress Elsa Pataky, boasts a wealth of knowledge in nurturing strong relationships, having been with Damon since 2003 and celebrating 20 years of marriage.

As an ardent admirer, I can’t help but marvel at this extraordinary pair who walk through life hand-in-hand, their skin etched with identical tattoos and their hearts knitted together so tightly that they seldom part ways for more than a fortnight. They are the proud parents of Isabella, 18, Gia, 16, and Stella, 14, daughters who embody their love in every facet. In addition, Barroso is a loving mother to Alexia, her beautiful child from her previous union, now 26 years old.

Barroso, being Damon’s wife, likely understands his preferences and requirements for a potential future Mrs. Affleck. It might also be advantageous for him as the actor has suggested that he may not always excel in romantic gestures.

Discussing the lack of charisma displayed by his character Christian Wolff in The Accountant 2, he commented: ‘He’s not at ease with making advances. He’s rather awkward when it comes to flirting. In many ways, he mirrors our own discomfort.’

A source close to the situation shared that Lucy harbors feelings for Ben, having been acquainted with him for quite some time. It’s been mentioned that she is on the lookout, hoping to introduce one of her friends to Ben.

‘While it doesn’t occur frequently, if Lucy believes someone she is acquainted with could make an excellent pair, she steps in as a cupid of sorts.’

Following the highly visible and invasive end of their relationship, it seems understandable that Affleck isn’t eager to start dating right away and prefers to concentrate on his career and his children, who are 18, 16, and 13 years old.

It’s clear that, being a former alcoholic, any potential romantic partners he may have should be abstinent from alcohol, considering Affleck sought help for his addiction back in 2001 and has been through rehab several times. His struggle with alcohol played a significant role in the end of his marriage to Garner.

Currently, his focus is entirely on his job, however, when he’s prepared, he intends to start dating a woman who abstains from alcohol. This is according to another source.

It’s advised that he dates someone from the recovery community, as it wouldn’t be beneficial for his sobriety if Ben were to be in a relationship with a woman who consumes alcohol.
