As a dedicated gamer, I’m super excited to share that the next major update for Wuthering Waves, version 2.3, dubbed ‘Fiery Arpeggio of Summer Reunion’, is about to mark its first anniversary! This exciting update brings a fresh wave of Resonators, weapons, events, and more to the game. Here’s a sneak peek at what you can expect when the WuWa Version 2.3 update drops on April 29, 2025. Prior to delving in, let’s first spend a bit of time familiarizing ourselves with all the new elements presented in Version 2.2. Also, let’s get acquainted with the two latest characters, namely Brant and Phoebe, who were introduced in the last update.

Wuthering Waves Version 2.3 Update brings new Banners

In the usual gaming style, I’m excited for the upcoming 2.3 update coming in two stages, each packed with fresh and familiar Resonators. I can’t wait to grab some potent new additions to enhance my gaming journey!

Phase I Banners

  • 5-Star Resonator: Zani (new)
  • 4-Star Resonators: Taoqi, Yuanwu, Lumi

Phase II Banners

  • 5-Star Resonator: Ciaccona (new)
  • 4-Star Resonators: Danjin, Yangyang, Mortefi

In the upcoming Version 2.3 update of Wuthering Waves, you’ll encounter two fresh 5-Star Resonators named Zani and Ciaccona. Each of them will be showcased across two phases in their respective banners. Zani, a Spectro Resonator, engages in combat using her unique gauntlets, while Ciaccona is an Aero Resonator who carries pistols as her weapon of choice.

  • 5-Star Resonators: Jiyan, Yinlin, Zhezhi, Xiangli Yao, Pheobe.

As a diehard fan, I’m thrilled to let you know about an exciting upcoming event called the “Anniversary Resonator Convene.” During this event, you’ll get the chance to choose a 5-Star Resonator or Weapon as your primary target for the Convene. You can even switch your choice whenever you like!

In the heat of the action, the Waveband for the available 5-Star Resonators will be up for grabs at the Afterglow Coral Store. Each one can be purchased a total of two times. Just remember, they’ll disappear from the store once the Convene wraps up. So, grab ’em while you can!

New Weapons and Echoes coming in WuWa Version 2.3 Update

In the upcoming version 2.3 of WuWa, there will be fresh weapon options available for the newly introduced characters on the forthcoming banners.

New 5-Star Weapons

  • Blazing Justice (Gauntlet): Signature weapon for Zani.
  • Woodland Aria (Pistol): Signature weapon for Ciaccona.

New Phantom Echoes

To boost the capabilities of your resonators, it’s essential to have reflections, or echoes. Rare types of these echoes, known as Phantom Echoes, are peculiar manifestations within Wuthering Waves.

  • Nimbus Wrath.
  • Chest Mimic.

New Special Events and Challenges arriving with WuWa Version 2.3 Update

In the approaching update, a long-term event titled “Dreaming Deep” will debut, along with another narrative event called “Your Summer Will Never Wither”. Furthermore, you’ll have the chance to delve into a fresh companion story named “A Blaze in the Dark”.

In honor of its first birthday, the game plans to roll out several special events, providing you with fresh obstacles and prizes.

  • Gifts of Grand Celebration – An Anniversary limited-time login event.

Optimizations coming with the Wuthering Waves Version 2.3 update

1. Faster loading times: Say goodbye to extended waits at the beginning of each level, as we’ve optimized the load times for a quicker start!
2. Improved character movement: Navigating through the game just got easier; your characters will move more smoothly and responsively.
3. Enhanced graphics: Enjoy an even more immersive experience with updated visuals that bring out the best of our fantastical world!
4. Streamlined user interface: We’ve tidied up the UI, making it simpler to find what you need when you need it.
5. Balanced difficulty levels: Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to our game, we’ve adjusted the challenge to provide an engaging and enjoyable experience for all players!

  • Echo Aspect: It is a new feature that allows you to change the appearance of your Resonator’s Glide or Flight apparatus.
  • Data Modification: You can use a modifier to adjust the first Mainstat of an unenhanced 5-Star Echo to a specific stat. These modifiers can be obtained via Special Events, Pioneer Podcast, and Item Exchange.
  • Ray Tracing and 120 FPS: This update expands the support for Ray Tracing to a wider variety of graphics cards, including some AMD and Intel models. Plus, the 120 FPS option will now be available to a broader range of graphics cards.
  • No Boss Fight CD: With this update, you will be able to restart the boss fight immediately after completing a Boss Challenge or Nightmare Challenge.
  • Glossary: You will be able to click on a hyperlinked term to bring up its definition as they will be added to complicated or important in-game terminology.
  • Game Resource Download Optimization: They are optimizing PC game resources, and your launcher will support incremental updates. Plus, mobile gamers will be able to pre-download after this update goes live.

Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Collaboration

Towards the conclusion of their live stream during version 2.3, Kuro Games unveiled an anticipated partnership between Wuthering Waves and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, scheduled for release in 2026. At present, details about this intriguing crossover event remain scarce.
