Global Megastars Unite for Epic Fest Aid to Rival Band Aid and Rock Glastonbury 2025

Kevin Cahill, the brain behind Comic Relief, is joining forces with music producer Paul Mitchell to establish a charitable organization aiming to compete with Band Aid in its efforts.

He’s recognized for organizing “For One Night Only,” an event where Ed Sheeran performed for a modest audience, who were required to deposit their phones at the entrance, with the proceeds benefiting charity.

Currently, they are focusing efforts on Fest Aid, an initiative aimed at collecting funds for charitable purposes. The goal is to persuade some of the largest rock and pop artists globally to contribute live performances from their tours and festivals. These contributions can later be compiled into albums.

Paul shared with The Sun that Kevin essentially spearheaded the entire Comic Relief initiative and is the creator of Sport Relief.

He shared with me details about the one-time event, which sparked the thought for recording our concert, he explained further.

Paul mentioned that several artists are likely to participate in Fest Aid, as they frequently find it challenging to carve out sufficient time from their schedules to record something exclusively for a charitable cause.

At Fest Aid, we’ll be compiling exclusive albums featuring live performances that artists have previously played and captured on record.

He clarified: “These major artists perform at festivals like Glastonbury and so forth, and whatever is captured during these performances belongs to the artist, unless they grant permission to broadcast it to entities such as the BBC.

Suppose Coldplay were to perform at Glastonbury. All we’d need to ask of them would be one song from their live performance for us.

Preceding the upcoming festival season, we’ve got some thrilling news! The artists performing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival have already been announced.

The main attractions for this event are The 1975 and Olivia Rodrigo, and shortly after these artists were announced, many ticket holders flocked to social media to express their disappointment with the lineup.

They assertively stated that the widely acclaimed event had significantly declined, even going as far as to call it “the most disappointing one yet.”

This morning, the official Glastonbury X page posted the following: ‘Presenting the first lineup poster for the Glastonbury Festival 2025!’

It added: ‘Many more acts and attractions still to be announced.’

Matty Healy’s band has been announced as the headliner for the Pyramid Stage at Worthy Farm on Friday evening.

2022 performer Olivia, known as a pop queen, will be the main act gracing the stage for the final evening of the upcoming event.

On Saturday evening, Canadian artist Neil takes over the stage. Additionally, Charli XCX, Raye, and Doechii are scheduled to perform.

Previously, I unintentionally created a misunderstanding when I mentioned that I was withdrawing from the event scheduled for January 1st. To clarify, my participation at the festival had not been officially confirmed prior to my statement.

He explained that the reason for this was because the event fell under the BBC’s management as a corporate entity. Since 1997, the Somerset festival has maintained a close relationship with its sole broadcast partner, the BBC.

Sir Rod Stewart was already confirmed for the coveted teatime legends slot on the Sunday.
