Young Guns 3: Billy the Kid Meets Pancho Villa in Explosive New Plot
Details about the unforeseen follow-up to the ’80s/90s films featuring Estevez, Christian Slater, and Lou Diamond Phillips have been disclosed by someone. After a gap of 35 years since the last film in the series, Estevez is bringing back the western crew for a fresh tale that will further enrich the characters initially presented in 1988.
During an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, Estevez disclosed that he’s been compiling a potential cast roster for a sequel. This list includes Phillips and Slater reprising their roles, Estevez returning as Billy the Kid, and himself directing the film. He also hinted at the possibility of more Young Guns sequels in the future, discussing potential cast returns and future installments.
Lou-Lou and Christian Slater are back! Neither character met their on-screen demise, much like Billy the Kid. If you wish to continue the tale of Brushy Bill, there could be multiple sequels ahead. Whether I’ll appear in the next installment isn’t clear yet, but I do have a concept for what the fourth one might look like.
The Plot of ‘Young Guns 3‘ Would Feature a New Cast of Regulators
Later on, Estevez went on to reveal specifics about the storyline of the upcoming film, explaining that the once young and dynamic group, known as the “young guns,” were now more like seasoned veterans, or “old guns,” facing off against some newcomers playing the role of regulators.
As a movie enthusiast, I can’t help but express my excitement about the upcoming sequel, “Young Guns 3: Dead or Alive.”
The plot revolves around a fresh group of law enforcers, primarily Latino and Indigenous individuals. The story unfolds predominantly in Mexico, during the eve of the Mexican Revolution. This puts young Pancho Villa, who was 28 at the time, center stage. So, brace yourselves for an intriguing blend of old-west drama and historical significance!
In simpler terms, you have a band of young soldiers, dedicated followers, and revolutionaries, who are all children. It was discovered that there was an illegal child trafficking operation taking place at the border. These children were being taken from villages and conscripted into his army. They were also snatching kids off the orphan trains, and a network of individuals was involved in this crime. The Germans were part of it. There was a lot of complex history happening along the border at that time. Additionally, during the Mexican Revolution, the Germans were supporting Pancho Villa financially because the Americans were indifferent and looked down upon him.
As a movie enthusiast, I’d rephrase it like this: In the years leading up to World War 1, I find myself delving into a tale set just across America’s southern border. The story unfolds as German forces supply gold and weapons while engaging in covert operations against our nation. It’s an era where these events transpire, and legends such as Billy the Kid cross paths with Pancho Villa. Intriguingly, he’s asked to join forces and mentor his young followers. The narrative revolves around a diverse cast primarily consisting of Latinos and Indigenous peoples, making it feel authentic rather than contrived.
As of now, there’s no news about the release date for “Young Guns 3”. Given that things are just getting started, it’s still a long road ahead before we might witness Estevez mounting his horse and setting off once more.
