Pregnant Fitness Star Steph Claire Smith Defies Mum-Shamers with Bikini Confidence and Workout Wins

Steph Claire Smith expressed her appreciation for being able to carry on with her workout routine during pregnancy.

The heavily pregnant fitness influencer, about to welcome her second child, shares that she’s generally had a smooth pregnancy, experiencing only some minor pelvic discomfort.

The 30-year-old expressed, “If you have the ability to engage in physical activity, you are among those who are fortunate,” to nine.com.au.

‘I like to really focus on how grateful I am that my body is still allowing me to do movement.’

Steph has mostly been opting for brief strolls and doing Pilates exercises, however, she’s had to halt her passion for running.

Regarding my pregnancy progress, I’m not engaging in running anymore, but instead, I’m taking leisurely walks. However, I’m still making an effort to incorporate some physical activity into my routine, and walking happens to be something I’ve always enjoyed.

Although I’ve significantly reduced the amount and speed at which I travel, it remains crucial for me to maximize the capabilities of my physical self.

After facing criticism from trolls over her posts displaying her physique as a new mom, she responded to the backlash on social media.

In the podcast, the host posted a video where she showcased her pregnancy belly in a swimsuit and playfully ridiculed the criticisms, though she eventually confessed that the comments had indeed caused her some concern.

She shared with the Herald Sun that some critical remarks about her wearing a bikini, even as a mom, left her feeling somewhat unsettled this week.

It’s important that individuals have the freedom to feel self-assured and at ease while wearing what they find suitable for themselves, emphasizing personal style and comfort.

‘And people can have opinions but there is not necessarily any need to share them.’

The influencer, along with her husband Josh Miller, is anticipating the birth of their second child, as they already have a 2-year-old son named Harvey.

Steph has shared a playful video on social media, proudly showcasing her growing belly, following some criticism about her minimal outfits.

In the video, she is spotted donning a revealing two-piece swimsuit as she lip-syncs to Lily Allen’s popular song “Fk You” from 2009.

Captioning the clip, ‘Mum’s Reminder on Modesty’, Steph seems to be addressing comments from body-shamers.

‘I’ll do me, you do you,’ Steph told her 1.5million followers in a message she shared in the post.

In this video, the athletically fit internet personality is displayed, sporting a baseball hat and sunglasses, while she dances sensually to Allen’s protest tune, mimicking the lyrics without actual singing.

Steph conspicuously performs gestures that correspond to the song’s verse: “I hate you (I hate you), I hate you a lot.

‘Cause we hate what you do, And we hate your whole crew, So, please don’t stay in touch.’

As a committed supporter, I’d like to share that the original composition of this song was a powerful statement against rigid traditionalists harboring intolerant, homophobic, and racist beliefs.

Steph’s post appeared to meet a positive reaction from her followers.

One supporter expressed, ‘Absolutely! It’s important for our kids to see us appreciating ourselves and our bodies (including moms!) at every stage of life.’

‘Bloody good on you girl! I’d be in a bikini too if I looked like you!’ said another.

‘If I looked as good as Steph I would never wear anything other than a bikini,’ added another user.

After Steph declared that she had lost some Instagram followers following her announcement about having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), this event transpired.

On the Stellar’s “Something To Talk About” podcast, the fitness influencer shared that she experienced a significant increase in people unfollowing her after she publicly disclosed her ADHD diagnosis.

She mentioned that there was a significant drop in followers, and upon checking the timeline, it turned out to be the day when she shared her ADHD diagnosis.

Steph said women were previously ‘misdiagnosed’, with more people now learning they have ADHD.

Over the past couple of years, there’s been a distressing trend on the internet related to ADHD diagnoses. Many individuals have been sharing their experiences, she explained further.

People seem to be tired of discussing this popular topic, which made me apprehensive about bringing it up. This awareness added to my unease.

In October, Steph courageously shared her recent health developments in an open and honest disclosure, and she confessed that she experienced a sense of relief upon receiving a medical confirmation of her condition.
