Sam Neill’s Jurassic Park TikTok Will Make You ROFL!

In a humorous TikTok post, long-time Jurassic Park actor Sam Neill reminisces about the franchise. Neill has played his iconic character, paleontologist Alan Grant, in three of the six Jurassic movies released thus far. He first appeared in the 1993 original and later reprised his role in the controversial sequel Jurassic Park III (2001) and the equally contentious Jurassic World Dominion (2022). The Jurassic Park series, originally based on the novels by Michael Crichton, centers around humanity’s mistake of resurrecting dinosaurs.

On TikTok, actor from Jurassic Park, Neill, shared a chuckle-worthy clip of him driving a cart alongside an inflatable T. rex. With a playful tagline, “THIS IS SILLY. Why did I do this? Sorry Steven,” and set against the iconic melody of the movie’s main theme, Neill jokingly consults the inflatable dinosaur on whether they should excavate some fossils today. Ultimately deciding, “Okay, let’s give it a try.” You can watch the entire video below:

What This Means For The Jurassic Park Franchise

Sam Neill Remains An Icon

Although some might claim that Neill’s debut film was the 1977 action-thriller “Sleeping Dogs” from New Zealand, based on C.K. Stead’s book about a resistance movement against a fascist government, he is more widely recognized for his portrayal of Alan Grant in the “Jurassic Park” series. The initial film, praised with a 91% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes from both critics and viewers, propelled him further into the limelight than “Sleeping Dogs” did, which is often regarded as one of the greatest New Zealand films ever made.

Fans often debate that the absence of Jeff Goldblum’s character Ian Malcolm in “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” left a significant gap for them, as they were captivated by him in the first film. They felt that the sequel seemed inadequate without his presence, even though some might argue that “The Lost World” focused more on Ian’s storyline. However, many fans believed that the Jurassic Park franchise revolved around Neill’s character after the initial film. Despite this, Neill reappeared in the series for “Jurassic Park III” and “Jurassic World Dominion,” and based on his recent TikTok posts, it is clear that he remains connected to the franchise today.

Our Take On Sam Neill’s Jurassic Park-Inspired TikTok

Glad That He’s Still Having Fun With The Franchise

Including Neill in the cast for Jurassic World Dominion, alongside Goldblum’s Ian and Laura Dern’s Ellie Sattler, was seen as a move catering to fans that some felt detracted from developing newer characters more thoroughly. Moving forward without those characters in the upcoming Jurassic World: Rebirth might have been the better choice, given its focus on new characters, tales, and dinosaurs. However, the potential for fan service aside, Neill’s Alan will be deeply regretted, as he played a pivotal role in the original Jurassic Park franchise’s narrative and success.
