The BBC’s beloved Pride and Prejudice series is marking its 30th anniversary with a cast reunion.
In 1995, a six-episode rendition of Jane Austen’s timeless novel was broadcast, and it was Colin Firth’s portrayal of Mr. Darcy alongside Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth that significantly boosted his fame.
On this coming Sunday, the special episode of The Reunion airing on BBC Radio 4 at 10am will gather a group of cast members to commemorate both the 30th anniversary of the show and Jane Austen’s 250th birthday. Host Kirsty Wark will be leading the discussion.
Additionally, we find Alison Steadman portraying Mrs Bennet, David Bamber taking on the role of Mr Collins, Crispin Bonham- Carter as Mr Bingley, and Adrian Lukis as Mr Wickham among the cast.
In addition to host Kirsty, screenwriter Andrew Davies, script editor Susie Conklin (co-author of “The Making of Pride and Prejudice”), and costume designer Dinah Collin will join in on the conversation about the cherished series.

Additionally, it’s been made official that more content related to Jane Austen’s 250th birth anniversary will be broadcasted on the BBC later this year. This includes a factual series, along with special radio programming on BBC Radio 4 in December. The titles of these programs include “Northanger Abbey,” “Pride and Prejudice,” and “Sense and Sensibility.
This spring, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be diving into the fascinating world of Jane Austen through a captivating three-part documentary series titled “Jane Austen: Rise of a Genius” airing on BBC Two and iPlayer!
This year marks the 30th anniversary of the BBC’s version of “Pride and Prejudice,” while Joe Wright’s 2005 movie, featuring Keira Knightley as Elizabeth and Matthew Macfadyen as Mr. Darcy, turns 20.

2005’s movie features the acting talents of Rosamund Pike, Carey Mulligan, Jena Malone, Brenda Blethyn, Donald Sutherland, and Judi Dench in its cast.
Recently, it has been confirmed that Netflix is creating a six-part series based on the renowned literary work, with Emma Corrin taking on the role of Elizabeth, Jack Lowden portraying Mr Darcy, and Olivia Colman playing Mrs Bennet – all from the cast of “Slow Horses”.
As of now, the release date for the series, which was crafted by Dolly Alderton, the author of “Everything I Know About Love,” has not been officially announced.
