Brigade SS25 Bridges NYC and Japan

For the Spring/Summer season of 2025, Brigade has unveiled their initial drop. Although deeply rooted in New York City culture, this release takes inspiration from beyond the city’s five boroughs. The design elements for Brigade’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection are derived from the travels of founder Aaron Maldonado across Japan over the past decade.

The brand, co-created by Aaron and Sarah Maldonado, proudly showcases its Puerto Rican and Dominican heritage in many of its clothing items, as seen in their latest collection. For instance, the Young Lords polo shirt includes silhouettes from marches led by the Puerto Rican Young Lords, while the Lares button-up shirt displays the first Puerto Rican flag in the center. Additionally, a camouflage graphic tee carries the statement “There is a war going on outside.

In his interview at TopMob Community Center, Maldonado emphasized that his top priority is to make New York City proud, which remains evident in his work even with the variety of other fashion influences present. Notable jewelry themes include intricate Jesus chain designs that mimic reality (trompe l’oeil), while the vibrant energy of Chinatown is reflected through several dragon motifs and logos.

As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but take a peek at the initial drop of Brigade’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection showcased in the lookbook up there. If you fancy diving into this vibrant world too, why not head over to their official webstore right now and snag some pieces from this captivating range?
