Catherine O’Hara Stars In 2 Must-See TV Shows
Two-time Emmy winner Catherine O’Hara is causing a stir this spring 2025 by appearing in two highly praised television series, which are widely considered the best currently airing new episodes on television. Fresh from her lead roles alongside Michael Keaton and Jenna Ortega in last year’s “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” as well as the Oscar-nominated animated film “The Wild Robot,” O’Hara has begun 2025 with a bang through her performances in high-profile TV productions.
Catherine O’Hara has made a name for herself in popular shows like Schitt’s Creek, SCTV, and Home Alone 1 & 2. In fact, she boasts over 120 film and TV credits to her name, with her first appearance on screen dating back to 1954 on an episode of The Wayne & Shuster Show, a comedy series starring Johnny Wayne and Frank Shuster. At just 21 years old in 1975, she made her mark as a cast member on SCTV, which eventually won her her first Emmy award. Since then, she has graced the screens of numerous films and TV series, including Beetlejuice, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Temple Grandin.
Catherine O’Hara Is Starring In The Last Of Us Season 2 & The Studio
They’re 2 Of The Most Critically Acclaimed Shows On TV Right Now
Actress Catherine O’Hara is taking on supporting roles in two popular series: HBO’s ongoing second season of “The Last of Us” and Apple TV+’s “The Studio,” a comedy produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg. In “The Last of Us,” O’Hara portrays Gail, a psychotherapist who is part of a community alongside Pedro Pascal’s Joel and Bella Ramsey’s Ellie. It’s important to note that, like the other characters in “The Last of Us,” Gail has experienced the loss of loved ones due to the terrifying zombies, or as they are called in the show, “infected.
In the film “The Studio“, O’Hara takes on a role as Patty Leigh, a former studio head who transitioned into production and works under Seth Rogen’s character, Matt Remick. Notably, in this movie, Patty assumes the position of a Hollywood producer, managing several film projects, including one directed by Sarah Polley, an Academy Award-winner who appears as herself in one of the film’s cameos that span from Anthony Mackie to Martin Scorsese. Previously, Patty served as Matt’s mentor, but a series of events led to her job being taken over by him.
The Last Of Us & The Studio Are Very Different, But They Are Both Must-See TV Shows
Both Earned 96% Scores On Rotten Tomatoes
Among the top-rated TV series at present are “The Last of Us” and a show known as “The Studio,” both receiving exceptional ratings on Rotten Tomatoes, with scores of 96%. Last year’s Emmy winner for Outstanding Comedy Series, “Hacks,” is another notable mention, having garnered a perfect 100% score in its fourth season.
Despite their contrasting tones – one dark and brutal, the other light-hearted and appealing to film enthusiasts – both shows highlight Catherine O’Hara’s versatile acting skills and talent. In a fashion reminiscent of Walton Goggins appearing in both “The White Lotus” and “The Righteous Gemstones”, Catherine O’Hara is set to generate buzz during the awards season once more.
