Brooklyn Beckham’s Rift Threatens to Ruin Dad’s 50th Birthday Bash
The private jet is waiting, a cleverly chosen restaurant has been reserved, and a fine bottle of David Beckham’s preferred red wine is maturing, all set for him to open on the approaching milestone birthday of his.
On May 2nd, David will be turning 50 years old, and his wife, Victoria, has been carefully arranging a clandestine journey to celebrate this significant occasion.
It has been shared with me that the venue is a scenic, secluded place in Europe. Friends hint that this event will be a heartwarming family gathering for the couple, along with their sons, partners, and undeniably, their youngest child Harper.
To emulate the festivity David organized in April to honor Victoria’s 50th birthday, the Beckham family along with their WAGs traveled to dine at the £200-per-person restaurant La Colombe d’Or, situated on the French Riviera.
This time around, Victoria wished that her husband’s special occasion would be as picturesque as her own, even though the setting has changed.
However, a dark cloud hangs over the preparations for the former England captain’s big day.
Again, it’s being reported that tensions seem tense between the couple, Brooklyn Beech and his wife Nicola Peltz. Contrary to tradition, neither of them wished Victoria a happy 51st birthday on Thursday. Instead, David, Romeo, and Cruz took to social media to express their joy. Meanwhile, the couple who recently tied the knot in an extravagant wedding ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida (2022), shared snaps from their Coachella music festival trip in Indio, California, instead.
In today’s world where social media updates resemble smoke signals from the Vatican, it was quite a slight or disrespectful gesture. In fact, the tension between them is so fragile that there are concerns Brooklyn and his wife might unexpectedly choose not to join the family for David’s birthday festivities.
This, make no mistake, would be a body blow to David, who is a famously devoted father.
As a lifestyle expert, I’d put it this way: “I am David, and let me tell you, my heart swells with joy when I see the bond between my sons. Their closeness is something I take immense pride in. Having a family that cherishes each other’s company and shares laughter and love is truly a blessing.
‘For him, family means everything. Raised amidst strong bonds with his grandparents and parents, this hardworking man cherishes nothing more than witnessing his sons and Harper sharing a close bond. Though the venue will be beautiful and ideal, what truly matters to him is having his family by his side, enjoying harmony on the special day. Unfortunately, things aren’t going smoothly at the moment. Everyone around them can only hope that any existing issues can be resolved before the big event – for the sake of David.’
On several family events, Brooklyn and Nicola haven’t shown up: they’ve been conspicuously absent from multiple family gatherings during the last year.
But to miss David’s 50th birthday would, say those close to him, be incredibly hurtful.
It appears that things didn’t go as planned, as neither Brooklyn nor Nicola attended David’s pre-birthday gathering in Miami last month, which included friends like Lionel Messi and model Cindy Crawford. The party was the beginning of his celebrations.
At the glamorous event held at Cipriani Downtown restaurant, Brooklyn was accompanied by his three siblings: brothers Romeo and Cruz, each accompanied by their respective partners Kim Turnbull and Jackie Apostel, who Brooklyn reportedly cherishes deeply. The trio were all decked out in Versace’s latest collection.
Turns out neither Brooklyn nor Nicola were around, but I later found out they had flown off to Los Angeles, a good 3,000 kilometers away, which is just a quick four-hour ride on a private jet. Insiders close to the family revealed it was due to professional obligations – with Brooklyn still carving his niche in the food sector. They assured me that both David and Victoria were aware of their absence.
At the gathering, it was actually Romeo, the second-born son, who delivered a heartfelt speech honoring his dear father. The words nearly brought tears to his eyes.
It turned out that Brooklyn missed his appearance, as news broke about a conflict between him and his younger brother Romeo, stemming from Romeo’s new relationship with model Kim. Interestingly, Kim was previously involved with Rocco Ritchie, the son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie.
As David’s significant birthday is just around the corner in two weeks, those who are close to the Beckham family are openly discussing if the couple will indeed travel from their home in Los Angeles to mark the occasion and celebrate with David.
Currently, sources close to the Beckham family have shared with me that Brooklyn intends to join his parents, and it is suggested that Nicola may also be planning to attend.
Despite the warm welcome extended to both, it’s uncertain how they might act: “The friend remarked, ‘They were indeed warmly welcomed as cherished family members.’ However, one can never tell, Brooklyn and Nicola may choose to act according to their own wishes.
A buddy of mine mentioned that continued disagreements among David’s family members could cause him immense distress. The most fantastic birthday gift for David would be his children and grandchildren getting along splendidly, creating joyous memories together. That’s what truly brings joy to his heart.
Last week, onlookers found it unusual that neither Victoria, known for her affectionate Instagram posts, especially regarding her children, nor David, failed to extend a congratulatory message or even a simple like or comment on Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz’s third wedding anniversary post, despite its appearance on social media.
More than this, none of the Beckham family publicly congratulated them, including Romeo.
To mark the third anniversary of their wedding, the pair shared an old picture from their special day on social media.
In Brooklyn’s post, aged 26, they expressed: ‘3 years of anniversary, darling! My heart is filled with love for you. I feel incredibly fortunate to share each day with you and gaze upon your lovely face every morning. You are my universe, dearest Nicola. With a profound affection, xxxxxxx.’
During this time, the post by Nicola – with captions much like those of Brooklyn, accompanied by pictures from their wedding ceremony – received no well wishes or congratulations from her family-in-law either.
As Brooklyn carefully recorded a delightful arrangement of blooms he found himself with, a message enclosed read, ‘Dearest Nicola and Brooklyn, Sending our warmest wishes on your anniversary! With love, Your Parents and Siblings.’ This development added more intrigue to the unfolding story.
Initially, when he initially shared the picture, he merely captioned it with ‘Thank you’, without specifying whether the gifts were from his parents or his in-laws. Later on, it seems that Brooklyn realized this ambiguity, so he removed the photo and re-shared it, making sure to mention explicitly that the flowers were sent by his in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Peltz (billionaire businesspeople).
The text reads: ‘I’m deeply grateful for the wonderful flowers sent by my in-laws [red heart emoji]. I adore you all.’
It is uncertain if the Beckhams gave anniversary presents to Brooklyn and Nicola; however, if they did, those gifts weren’t publicly displayed on their social media accounts.
Beyond the realm of social media, Brooklyn has regrettably been absent from a grand total of 11 family gatherings. The first of these occasions was David’s 49th birthday celebration in May of the previous year, which took place at the elegant Canton Blue restaurant within the 5-star London hotel, The Peninsula.
Towards the end of the same month, the family marked Anthony Adams’ birthday, Victoria’s father, in a relaxed gathering. The entire extended family shared a quiet meal, but once more, Brooklyn chose to stay absent.
Last summer, from July through August, the Beckham family took multiple vacations together. Interestingly, Brooklyn was not present during these travels. However, the other three children were part of the trips to Muskoka in Canada and later, a voyage along the European coast on the family’s £20 million yacht.
Last September, I missed out on celebrating my dear friend Romeo’s 22nd birthday bash in London due to the vast ocean that separates us – a fact that might be excusable. Yet, even when it came to his festivities in Sin City, Vegas, I found myself absent once again.
In October, weeks after, when the family traveled to Miami for David’s football team Inter Miami’s triumphant celebration of the Supporters’ Shield trophy, it was noticed yet again that Brooklyn and Nicola were absent from the event. This was surprising given they own a £15 million mansion in the city and essentially live right next door.
This January, David celebrated the debut of his latest BOSS ONE bodywear line for Hugo Boss by hosting a lavish event in London. Interestingly, his eldest son was absent at this gathering, despite the presence of his three youngest children.
After that, it was time for Paris Fashion Week – an exciting moment for Victoria, who often expresses her anxiety prior to such events and prefers her closest friends and family seated in the first row.
It is likely that Brooklyn understood the significance of his attendance at Victoria’s autumn/winter 2025 show on March 9, given how much his presence would have meant to his mother. However, he chose not to join the rest of the family – Romeo, Kim, Cruz, and Jackie – for this event.
Yesterday, rather than being present, Brooklyn was at the Natural Products Expo West trade show in California, manning a booth to publicize his line of Cloud23 bottled hot sauces.
It’s been proposed that Brooklyn may have grown apart from his family due to tensions with his wife, as it’s public knowledge that a noticeable chill developed in their relationship during the wedding preparations in May 2022.
The issues seem to have arisen when Nicola chose Valentino over Victoria for her wedding dress, instead of having her own dress tailored by Victoria. Later on, Nicola gave an interview stating that rejecting Victoria’s offer to design her gown was not meant as a disrespectful gesture towards her new mother-in-law.
Initially, Nicola intended to choose a specific dress and was eagerly looking forward to it. However, after a few months, she discovered that her atelier wasn’t capable of making the dress, forcing her to select another one instead. Fortunately, 18 months later, it appears that everyone involved has reconciled, with family reports suggesting that ‘time proved to be a remarkable healer’.
It turns out that even with Nicola residing in Los Angeles and Victoria primarily based in London, they’ve developed an exceptionally close bond, maintaining frequent communication between them.
Brooklyn, who has always been close to his mother, was ‘relieved’ the two women buried the hatchet.
According to a friend, David and Victoria were extremely anxious about possibly losing Brooklyn. Specifically, David was very careful in dealing with the situation to avoid any actions that could potentially strain their relationship with Brooklyn in the future.
Regarding Victoria, during the time when Brooklyn was maturing and David was frequently absent due to work commitments, they formed an exceptionally strong bond. In essence, Brooklyn took on a significant role within the household, and their relationship could be described as almost indivisible.
Regrettably, it seems that rifts are arising once more within the Beckham family. According to those close to David, he is eagerly welcoming his upcoming 50th birthday and numerous chances for Brooklyn and Nicola to join him in celebration, if they so choose.
Instead of hosting an extravagant event like his wife Victoria did at the exclusive Mayfair venue Oswald’s, David prefers to skip a grand celebration. According to a friend, this type of gathering doesn’t truly reflect his personality.
Rather than having one big celebration, I am opting for a series of intimate gatherings instead. A few dinner parties with select groups are scheduled. Whether the kids join us or not depends on their travel itineraries. Later, we have something special planned at home with David and Victoria’s extended family, including their parents and siblings.
‘It’s all rather low key compared to Victoria but he’s not really a huge party kind of guy.
‘He just wants his loved ones around him, that’s what makes him really happy.’
Time alone shall reveal if I’ll be graced by my cherished first-born and beloved spouse on my special day, as I eagerly anticipate blowing out the candles together, immersed in joyous celebration.
