Previously known child actor from the movie “The Sixth Sense,” and sibling of Emily Osment, issued an apology for employing a distasteful term in a public statement distributed to various media outlets. At the age of 37, this actor from “Blink Twice” released his apology just hours after footage of his encounter with a law enforcement officer was publicly released on Thursday night.

In his statement, shared with People and TMZ, Osment expressed deep regret for his actions, admitting that he was shocked by his behavior. He mentioned that if he had realized he had spoken such disrespectful words during a moment of unconsciousness, he would have addressed the issue sooner. He also confessed that the recent months of grief and upheaval have left him in a very fragile emotional state.

Actor Haley Joel Osment, famous for ‘The Sixth Sense’, was freed following a recent detention in Mammoth Lakes, where he was suspected of being under the influence publicly and found with an unknown controlled substance.

In the police footage, Osment is heard reprimanding an officer from inside a patrol car. He declared, “I’ve been abducted by a… well, a fascist,” followed by, “You’ll regret not being kinder to me.” Later, he used a derogatory term (the specific word was censored) against the officer and started laughing.

“You’re gonna regret this,” Osment later says in the video as the officer parks the patrol car.

But it was the actor who later expressed regret for the incident.

With deep sincerity, I express my heartfelt apologies to everyone affected. The words that tumbled out were senseless and regrettable; I’ve fallen short of the expectations within the Jewish community, a realization that fills me with sorrow. I don’t seek forgiveness, but vow to make amends for this grave error.

In his statement, Osment primarily discussed his alleged usage of an anti-Semitic term and failed to touch upon the actor’s recent arrest earlier this month. A spokesperson for Osment declined to provide a comment from him when contacted by The Times last Friday.

The incident was his latest run-in with law enforcement.

18-year-old actor Haley Joel Osment, who was involved in a car accident in La Canada Flintridge a month ago, was accused of misdemeanor DUI (Drunk Driving) by authorities, as announced on Thursday.

In 2006, Osment encountered legal issues for the first time when he was accused of misdemeanor drunk driving following a car accident in La Cañada Flintridge. Over a decade later, in 2018, an incident involving Osment occurred at the Las Vegas airport where he reportedly made threatening remarks towards American Airlines personnel, leading to a police response.

LA-born Osment is one of the countless individuals who unfortunately had their homes destroyed by the destructive wildfires that occurred in January.

Recently, the actor from “Spoils of Babylon” was taken into custody on April 8th, under suspicion of public drunkenness and carrying an unidentified illegal substance at Mammoth Mountain ski resort, a well-known destination. The Mono County District Attorney’s office revealed to The Times that they have formally accused Osment of two misdemeanors: one for disorderly behavior associated with alcohol consumption and another for cocaine possession.

The district attorney’s office announced that Osment will appear before the Mammoth Lakes branch of the Mono County Superior Court in July for a hearing.
