Ana de Armas’ Eve Takes on Keanu Reeves’ John Wick in Explosive New Ballerina Poster!
lead engages the Baba Yaga in a brand new poster for the upcoming John Wick spinoff.
The poster emphasizes Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro in a diverse cast of characters, both new and established within the John Wick world. This includes John Wick himself (Keanu Reeves), the Director (Anjelica Huston), and Winston (Ian McShane) amidst an array of firearms and decorative surroundings. A scuffle involving Macarro and Wick, reminiscent of the latest Ballerina trailer shown at CinemaCon, is also depicted in the poster’s center. In fact, just this week, a behind-the-scenes clip from Ballerina‘s X page highlighted de Armas’ martial arts skills as she was tossed around by an extra and managed to strike him with a frying pan.
Previously showcasing her combat prowess in movies such as “No Time to Die” and “Ghosted”, the film “Ballerina” finds de Armas in the role of a Ruska Roma assassin on a mission to avenge her family’s death by hunting down their killers. She displays an array of skills, from handling guns and axes to wielding grenades and even a flamethrower, all in pursuit of vengeance. The narrative also introduces a face-off between Eve and Wick, as trailers hint that Wick has been dispatched to thwart her revenge crusade before it triggers a wider conflict within the criminal underworld.
In her first English production, “Knock Knock”, the actress shared that working with him in “Ballerina” was exceptionally meaningful because it allowed her to enter his world – the world of John Wick, revered by fans. She expressed admiration and gratitude towards Keanu as an artist, individual, and friend, acknowledging his leadership and grace on set, and his consistent gentlemanly demeanor. The movie serves as the second significant spinoff of “John Wick”, following “The Continental”, a three-episode miniseries on Peacock, detailing how Winston assumed control over the Continental from its former owner.
Contrary to what seemed like a final farewell in “John Wick: Chapter 4”, Lionsgate shared at CinemaCon that Keanu Reeves will reprise his role as the notorious assassin, John Wick. Not only that, but he’ll also lend his voice for an animated series titled “Beneath the Table”, delving into the “impossible mission” that enabled Wick to step away from this violent life and tie the knot. The original “John Wick” movie, which turned ten last year, left a significant mark on the film industry, inspiring action films like “Nobody”, “Extraction”, and “The Fall Guy”.
In more recent news, the Academy Awards announced that they will be introducing a new category in 2027 as part of their 100th anniversary celebration.
More John Wick Spinoffs Are in the Works
After the release of Ballerina, it has been announced that there will be more John Wick spin-offs in production. One of these spin-offs is centered around Donnie Yen‘s character Caine from Chapter 4. Additionally, longtime director Chad Stahelski is currently working on another project, which may potentially be acquired by Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists.
From the World of John Wick: Ballerina premieres in theaters on June 6.
