Love Island’s Fave Couple Shockingly Break Up!
Lochan Nowacki and Whitney Adebayo have announced that they have split after two years of dating.
On a Friday evening, the couples who finished as runners-up on Love Island decided to share on their individual Instagram stories that they had ended their relationship.
In his post, Lochan wrote: “I regret to inform you all that Whitney and I have parted ways in our relationship.
From the depths of my heart, I can’t express enough how incredibly thankful I am for the outpouring of affection and backing you’ve given us throughout this incredible ride. We’ll never forget it!
Additionally, Whitney posted the same message on her personal stories, confirming the split to her own audience.
On the Love Island series of 2023, this beloved pair gained widespread recognition and eventually found themselves among the show’s most cherished couples, ultimately reaching the grand finale together.

They came very close but ultimately did not win; instead, Jess Harding and Sammy Root won, but they parted ways soon after their stint on ITV2 concluded.
At first, viewers couldn’t believe they had let the opportunity for a £50,000 prize slip through their fingers. Many felt strongly that they were the ones who deserved to win instead.
The next year, Mimii Ngulube and Josh Oyinsan made history as the first black pair to clinch the series victory. Whitney remarked that this triumph was long overdue.
At that point, she expressed: “This is an occasion worthy of jubilation; it has etched itself into history, as it truly deserves, and I can’t help but feel it’s long past due.
It’s unfortunate that there have been numerous Black women appearing on reality TV shows yet they often fail to receive the recognition they deserve.
It seems that Samira was likely the first black woman to participate in Love Island initially, however, since then we’ve had Yewande, Kaz, Rachel, Lianne, Indiyah, Catherine, myself, and several others. Yet, despite a growing representation of us on the show, we haven’t received the recognition or appreciation that we deserve, much like someone being denied their flowers while they are still alive.
Essentially, Mimii’s victory isn’t just about her; it symbolizes a multitude of individuals who paved the way before her, and serves as an inspiration for young black girls who aspire to follow in her footsteps.
