Rainn Wilson Revealed His Lyrics For The Office’s Theme Song, And Dwight Would Be So Proud Of This

2025 holds great significance for former Dunder Mifflin employees and Office fans alike, as it marks the 20th anniversary of the blockbuster mockumentary sitcom, The Office. Several exciting events related to the milestone have already transpired, such as Chili’s Scranton reopening and Rainn Wilson sharing lyrics for the iconic theme song intro. Wilson’s new rendition is poised to be popular, and his character Dwight Schrute would undoubtedly appreciate every moment of it.

Many current comedies continue to hold top spots in our 2025 TV lineup, but fans are still yearning for the return of “The Office” and its beet-farming character. As the show (now available on Peacock with a subscription) progressed, Schrute became our most cherished character, stealing the show with his unique blend of eccentricity and warmth. With the 20th anniversary approaching, Dwight Schrute himself, Kevin Wilson, has graced us with his musical talents on the “Hasan Minhaj Doesn’t Know” podcast. Coincidentally, a clip from his interview singing the song (courtesy of TikTok) is now available: the talented alum of “The Rocker.

In approximately half a second, I grasped the comedian’s act, and I admire both him and the assistant to the regional manager for it. Although the performance seems biased, it does capture Dwight’s general sentiments. The song subtly acknowledges a senior sales representative named Stanley Hudson, who humorously implies that there is a branch manager, taking playful jabs at John Krasinski and Jim Halpert. It emphasizes the diligent worker in Scranton, more specifically Dwight, making me eager for timely Schrute-related plots that could have been.

Following his unique performance of an unfamiliar melody, Wilson gracefully took the appreciation with a touch of humor and modestly acknowledged the compliments.

Thank you America. Thank you.

It’s characteristic of the actor from The Meg and the Scranton resident to go a step beyond while still keeping it light-hearted. If an intro songwriter is needed for the upcoming Office spinoff, I believe they’ve already found their match. With members like Wilson and others from the original Office cast expressing they won’t be part of a new series (except for Oscar Martinez), the excitement is high, and trust is placed in the new Greg Daniels sitcom. However, the new cast members have some challenging footsteps to follow.

To be honest, I can’t wait to see how the world of Office adapts to our faster-moving times. It might even include lyrics for the theme song someday, though we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, I’m really enjoying Dwight Schrute’s modern spin on the classic tune from the NBC sitcom. I can’t wait to revisit those good old days on Peacock.
