Maren Morris, 35, Sets the Record Straight on Dating Post-Divorce: Exclusive Insight

Currently, Maren Morris is juggling her responsibilities as a mother and working on a new album, leaving little room for romantic pursuits at this time, given her recent divorce status.

35-year-old music sensation, who recently spent quality time with friends, dropped the second track off her latest Dreamsicle album last Friday.

Bed No Breakfast has fun with hookup culture.

The Country Music Award winner’s lyrics like “Won’t you sleep better at your place” and “These thousand-count sheets aren’t for resting,” suggest that they are not seeking a lasting romantic relationship, instead focusing on temporary encounters.

The entire experience of composing that tune had me chuckling, causing me to remark, “It seems fitting [to debut it] given today’s romantic climate. It’s a lament for all those who find themselves in modern dating struggles.” This was shared with People by the artist.

Morris and her former husband, Ryan Hurd, parted ways last year following six years of marriage. They are proud parents to their five-year-old son, Hayes.

The video depicts Morris engaging in several solitary pastimes, including relaxing on a stack of mattresses as she scrolls through her phone, air-drying clothes by hanging them up, and preparing bacon sandwiches using an iron and ironing board.

The sexy ditty follows the release of her much more serious single, Carry Me Through.

She stated that ‘Carry Me Through’ is a deeply emotional and soulful track about navigating life’s challenges while having the assurance of support and companionship. However, it’s important to remember that ultimately, the decision lies with you.’

The initial unveiling of the project felt incredibly deliberate for me. However, I aimed to surprise listeners by combining elements: indeed, the album carries a soothing, healing ambiance, yet it’s interwoven with a good dose of playful wit and realistic undertones.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I found that ditching the traditional breakfast routine and unveiling a record with an entirely fresh sound, not merely a replica of “Carry Me Through,” was the ideal approach to astonish listeners who might have expected more of the same.

As I was navigating through this change, I found myself pausing and thinking, “Hold on a minute, there seems to be a hint of that classic Texas spirit left within me as well!

Besides divorcing her husband, Morris, a person who identifies as bisexual, also chose to leave the Country Music industry in 2023, expressing her discomfort due to some unacceptable behaviors towards the LGBTQ community.

She is well-known for engaging in a public disagreement with Brittany, Jason Aldean’s wife, concerning her comments regarding transgender individuals.

She shared with the New York Times Popcast that she could no longer endure the circus – feeling obligated to tolerate and even humor others’ unacceptable actions.

2020 had a profound impact on me, making it difficult for me to continue as before. My transformation since then has been significant, with many aspects of my personality undergoing a remarkable shift.

Morris chose to share the song “Better Than We Found It” as a show of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, after the tragic deaths of George Floyd and other African Americans. In addition, he emphasized the importance of increasing diversity within the Country music industry.

Regarding establishing a romantic relationship, Morris mentioned that it’s far from being a priority on her list of things to accomplish.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I find myself prioritizing my commitments thoughtfully. Work, self-care, and my little one take the front seat in my life right now. It’s a conscious choice not to engage in certain activities because they simply don’t align with my current priorities.

If I find myself with spare time, I wouldn’t pass up the chance for a meaningful interaction. While it may not be my top priority, it is still something that I intend to make happen.

Dreamsicle is scheduled to be released on May 9.
