Comedian Paul Rodriguez Cleared of Charges After Controversial Fentanyl Raid!

Known comedian Paul Rodriguez, who was taken into custody recently due to drug charges, has had his case dismissed.

Earlier, Rodriquez expressed his intention to take legal steps against the police, alleging racial motivation behind an unexpected fentanyl search. He maintains that the substances discovered by the authorities were not his property.

70-year-old individual found himself at odds with the Burbank Police Department following his arrest. He claimed that one of the officers, who was white, struck him, an accusation that the police department denies. Their version of events differs from his.

At the time, DailyMail.com received conflicting statements from Rodriguez’ lawyer and the police.

Currently, the city attorney of Burbank has stated that there will be no charges filed due to insufficient evidence, as reported by TMZ.

Responding to the news, Bobby Samini, Rodriguez’s attorney, stated: “Rodriguez appreciates the City Attorney’s persistence in this case. There’s no question in his innocence and he never had any illegal substances.

Samini stated: “Mr. Rodriguez continued to claim his innocence, denying the accusation made by the Burbank Police Department that he had committed a crime. He expressed gratitude for the backing he received from his supporters, relatives, and acquaintances during this challenging period.

Two weeks ago, Samini stated that the actions taken by the arresting officer were a breach of civil liberties.

On April 2, Samini clarified to DailyMail.com that the claim that Mr. Rodriguez had any illegal substances with him was completely untrue.

It’s underhanded and reckless for unidentified sources to make statements that aim to harm Mr. Rodriguez falsely. Mr. Rodriguez plans to refute these accusations and initiate necessary legal measures against the ones responsible.

In further detail, the lawyer detailed Rodriguez’s significant national contributions through his military service.

Samini added: ‘Beyond his illustrious career in Hollywood, Mr. Rodriguez was once a distinguished veteran of the United States Air Force. He served our nation with pride and held top-tier security credentials.’

Despite willingly complying with the authorities, Mr. Rodriguez was violently taken out of the car, handcuffed, arrested, and later subjected to a thorough body search. However, no illegal substances were discovered on him or in his belongings. This action seemed less about safeguarding and serving the community and more about embarrassing and belittling Mr. Rodriguez.

Rodriguez got taken into custody along with a female companion, who happened to be the driver. During their investigation, police discovered drugs concealed within an unrecognized woman’s handbag.

Samini found that Mr. Rodriguez, who was in the car, was handled as if he were a potentially harmful criminal.

My client has faith in our court system and intends to obtain fair judgment through a group of fellow citizens on the jury. Mr. Rodriguez plans to uphold his legal entitlements and establish his innocence.

On the very same day as Rodriguez made his claims, I, a dedicated follower of the Burbank Police Department, eagerly shared Sergeant Stephen Turner’s official response to DailyMail.com.

As a diligent follower, I can confirm that the officer has shared with us that the agency is currently investigating the reported misconduct, and this matter is under administrative review by the Department.

Turner additionally shared with DailyMail.com that, upon being released from jail, Mr. Paul Rodriguez didn’t accuse any wrongdoing when speaking to a Watch Commander.

This came days after Rodriguez broke his silence following his arrest on Friday.

A well-known comedian and actor was stopped by the police in Burbank, California, due to a traffic offense, as reported by TMZ.

During the traffic stop, it’s said that officers investigated Rodriguez’s car and are accused of discovering illegal substances within it.

He was arrested and taken into custody on misdemeanor drug possession charges.

In response to TMZ’s query on Saturday, Rodriguez asserted that the drugs found weren’t his, alleging that one of the officers behaved improperly during the apprehension.

He also suggested the incident may have been racially motivated.

DailyMail.com had reached out to Paul’s reps for comment at the time.

Rodriguez clarified that during a traffic stop, he was dozing off in the front seat when the officer – whom he characterized as having Caucasian origin – reportedly struck him to rouse him. He implied that this incident suggested the officer was acting out of excessive power or authority.

As for the narcotics, Rodriguez claims they belonged to his friend, who was driving at the time.

According to the comedian, his friend admitted to police that the drugs were hers.

In an unfortunate turn of events, I found myself being roughly handled and detained, just like Rodriguez, alongside another individual. Our vehicle was also seized during the incident. It’s crucial to remember that such situations can happen unexpectedly, so it’s essential to stay vigilant and aware in unfamiliar circumstances.

The police have stated that Rodriguez was given a ticket for minor drug offenses and let go. This matter is now being examined by the city attorney’s office. Yet, no comments have been made regarding Rodriguez’s accusations by the authorities.

Rodriguez mentioned that he’s contemplating submitting an official grievance about the officer’s behavior. On the other hand, his companion is currently detained due to unpaid warrants.

Rodriguez hinted at possibly lodging a formal objection concerning the officer’s actions. Simultaneously, his associate has been apprehended over unresolved warrants.

This incident comes amid a challenging period for the comedian.

Last November, Rodriguez’s lifelong friend, Donald Serrato, unfortunately lost his life due to natural causes during a stay at Rodriguez’s residence in Los Angeles.

Additionally, in 2021, the comedian underwent quadruple bypass surgery.

At the time of his passing, Serrato had recently sold his house in Torrance and temporarily resided with Rodriguez in the Los Angeles region, prior to relocating to Montana.

According to law enforcement officials, they assume that Serrato’s death was due to natural causes, and there is no indication that drugs or any form of suspicious activity played a role.

At that point, Rodriguez implied that Serrato’s suspected heavy consumption of alcohol and cigarettes, combined with his mourning over the loss of two family members, might have played a role in his decline or downfall.

He shared that he departed from home around 6 am on Thursday, headed for a movie set, and later called Serrato around noon to arrange lunch together.

Despite not getting a response from his phone call, he ended up contacting Serrato’s girlfriend instead. She subsequently went to visit him at his home as a precaution, according to TMZ.

In this situation, emergency responders went to Rodriguez’s residence and discovered Serrato. Regrettably, they declared him deceased at the location itself.

As a die-hard admirer, I’ve got to say, I’m absolutely smitten by the legendary comedian, Rodriguez – a man who, born in Sinaloa, embarked on an extraordinary journey that led him to Compton. For over four decades now, he’s been making us laugh, share our tears, and see the world through his unique, hilarious lens.

He frequently performs at comedy clubs (specifically the stand-up circuit), and he’s among an exclusive group of comedians who have their pictures displayed on the walls of the legendary Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

At the start of his acting journey, Rodriguez also starred as the lead in his own television sitcom titled “a.k.a. Pablo” in 1984. Unfortunately, the show only ran for six episodes before it was discontinued.

Over time, viewers have come across him gracing popular TV shows such as The Golden Girls, Touched by an Angel, and The Twilight Zone.

Apart from that, he’s provided vocals for shows such as King of the Hill, Dora the Explorer, and The Proud Family, along with the movie Cats & Dogs: The Revival of Kitty Galore.

Rodriguez has appeared in films such as the 2002 Clint Eastwood movie “Blood Work” and the 2021 production titled “Clifford The Big Red Dog.

His son, known as Paul Rodriguez or P-Rod for short, is a renowned skateboarder who boasts more than a million followers on Instagram under his social media handle.
