Martha Stewart Trolls Katy Perry with Zero-G Flight Throwback
Martha Stewart playfully teased both Katy Perry and the Blue Origin crew by sharing an old photo from when she experimented with zero gravity during a flight in Florida, way back in 2006, as part of her Throwback Thursday posts.
If you happened to miss it, the 83-year-old lifestyle expert, with a massive following of 8.7 million on social media, titled her Instagram video.
‘Martha has always been ahead of her time.’
In the video, Stewart, originally known as Kostyra, skillfully executed flips and push-ups while she gracefully moved and levitated within the only FAA-authorized facility providing parabolic flights.
In simpler terms, she shared that she climbed aboard an airplane named G-Force One, which is similar to a Boeing 727, and felt like an astronaut when I was in zero gravity. (The 10-time Daytime Emmy award recipient elaborated.)
Established in 1993, Zero-G offers flights at a price of $8,900 per passenger, suitable for individuals aged 12 to 85. During these flights, passengers experience simulated Martian gravity (approximately one-third the force of Earth’s gravity), lunar gravity (approximately one-sixth the force of Earth’s gravity), and periods of weightlessness.
During every 15 instances of parabolic flight, passengers usually encounter approximately 30 seconds where they feel weightlessness.
In his 1995 movie Apollo 13, starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, and the late Bill Paxton, director Ron Howard employed the same technology to shoot scenes that appeared weightless.
Instead, the women aboard Blue Origin’s spacecraft encountered about three to four minutes of weightlessness at an altitude of 62 miles above Earth, which is known as the Kármán line, during the New Shepard NS-31 mission that took place over Texas on Monday.
In addition to the six-woman team, there was NASA rocket expert Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen, morning show host Gayle King from CBS, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez, who is engaged to Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos.
The six-member female team comprised NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe, bioastronautics researcher Amanda Nguyen, morning show host Gayle King from CBS Mornings, film producer Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez – the fiancée of Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos.
Without a doubt, the 40-year-old pop icon has faced the most substantial criticism due to her being labeled as a celebrity astronaut, with her brief space voyage primarily catering to the wealthy causing a considerable environmental impact on our precious Earth.
A representative from Blue Origin, named Bill Kircos, shared with CNN on Monday that certain passengers got to fly for free, whereas other individuals paid a refundable deposit of $150,000 – an amount typically required to initiate the procedure for booking a seat.
Simultaneously, Martha’s Instagram post received enthusiastic approval from fans, with user @winedinecaroline commenting admiringly: “Skilled at trolling.
User @missmomiss12 commented: ‘I can’t recall Martha ever identifying as an astronaut.’
‘Martha Steward started the “Women Taking Up Space” movement,’ Instagram user @the.zanith quipped.

Instagram user @devonlyrandomonium shared a gif featuring Latrice Royale (a contestant from season 4 of RuPaul’s Drag Race) playfully expressing herself by fanning and saying: “Oh girl, that’s some serious shade!
On a Thursday morning, Stewart made an appearance on the TODAY show to publicize her recently released Gardening Handbook, available since March 18th, while adding a touch of Easter joy to the occasion.
‘I’m hosting a lunch at my house,’ the domestic diva dished.
‘I decided to make good use of all elements in the garden, so I came up with an idea for decorative floral eggs, featuring the first blooms from our tulip bed and a search for the largest, finest chocolate rabbit. My friend Jacques Torres generously gifted me that delightful bunny!’
Afterward, Martha guided Mike Tirico and Savannah Guthrie through the process of creating golden, 24-karat leaf-adorned wooden eggs, which would later be hidden for the kids during extravagant Easter egg searches.
‘It’s so much fun to work with gold leaf!’ Stewart gushed.
‘I love gold-leafing things! And you know our president [Donald Trump] loves gold leaf too.’
12 contestants are set to battle it out in the upcoming cooking competition series “Yes, Chef!” which will debut on NBC on April 28. This exciting show is being co-hosted by Uber Eats’ brand ambassador and celebrity chef José Andrés. The winner of this culinary challenge will receive a $250,000 grand prize.
