In the summer TV lineup of 2025, when “Bachelor in Paradise” makes its comeback, it’s been announced that some contestants from the spinoffs titled “Golden” will be joining the young singles on the beach. Although a few members of Season 10 have been confirmed, Gerry Turner, the first “Golden Bachelor,” has declined to participate in the show. Instead, he’s sharing insights about the new relationship he’s cultivated away from the cameras.

Initially, I, Gerry Turner, shared my decision not to appear on “Bachelor in Paradise” because I’d previously dated all those ladies, which was quite amusing. However, it appears there’s a hidden chapter to this tale. This 73-year-old gentleman recently graced the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, where he revealed a blossoming relationship with someone new, confidentially sharing this tidbit with the hosts and US Weekly.

I don’t enjoy admitting it because I anticipate negative reactions, but it was almost the first time I noticed her. The expression she gave me took hold of me unexpectedly, causing a strong physical reaction that I initially dismissed as absurd. However, every time we meet again, that sensation returns with her gaze and I can’t help but think, ‘Wow, this is quite amazing.’

This is such a heartwarming news! While Gerry Turner hasn’t explicitly mentioned his new relationship, it’s clear he’s thrilled with the direction his life has taken. However, despite this joy, there seems to be a concern – the fear of baseballs being hurled at him. Perhaps this apprehension stems from the backlash Bachelor Nation showed when Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist filed for divorce only three months following their televised wedding.

It’s not a new thing for this gentleman to express his affection; however, during his stint on “The Golden Bachelor,” he made an error by telling multiple women he loved them, causing some complex heartbreaks in the closing episodes. Yet, it could be genuine this time around, as he persisted with:

I’ve never subscribed to the idea of falling instantly in love, but now, unexpectedly, I find myself feeling as if I’m actually living that very experience.

It brings me great joy to learn that Gerry Turner may have found the companion with whom he’ll spend his later years. Earlier in December, he hinted at a new romance by announcing he was dating someone, though he cautioned against labeling it then, and it’s not certain if this is the same person as his current partner.

After a resident of Indiana announced he had been diagnosed with a little-known blood cancer called Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia during his marriage to Theresa Nist, the divorce was soon to follow. The former couple debated whether and to what extent the cancer diagnosis influenced their decision to part ways, but despite this, it’s heartening to see Turner is actively seeking genuine love.
