Jamie Laing Collapses After 150-Mile Run: Body & Mind Are Still Reeling!
Jamie Laing has confessed that he hasn’t been doing too well since he finished his grueling 150-mile ultramarathon event for Comic Relief last month.
The BBC Radio 1 host, aged 36, gained the support of the entire nation as he jogged 30 miles daily for five straight days throughout the country, amassing a remarkable £2.3 million donation for charity.
Looking back a month later, the ex-star of Made In Chelsea confessed that he is yet to fully recover from the emotionally distressing task.
In a unique episode of his podcast Great Company, Jamie admitted, “Ever since then, I haven’t been feeling my best.
Though I’m about to embark on a lavish vacation with my beloved wife, Sophie Habboo, beginning soon, I find myself unable to disengage and unwind.
It seems difficult to relax or find peace when one experiences such a severe shock to their system.

Additionally, this brought about considerable stress due to numerous comments pouring in, both positive and negative. While the kind words were heartwarming, they also came with their fair share of negativity. Managing all these opinions proved challenging.
Generally, nothing tends to get under my skin, but lately, I’ve found myself being influenced by certain things, oddly enough.”
Here’s another option:
“Typically, I keep calm and collected, but recently, I’ve been letting small things bother me, for some reason.
Jamie hasn’t fully recuperated yet, even physically, as he acknowledged that his feet are still not completely healed.
My feet are aching, yet they seem alright. Today, I attempted to play tennis, but I’m still finding it hard to move around. However, my mind and body are recovering nicely, which is reassuring.
Besides sharing his own experiences, Jamie likewise spoke candidly about the touching motivation that helped him persevere during his darkest hour, following the inspiring tale of a courageous 12-year-old girl fighting cancer.
Instead of giving up, he confessed that he had considered quitting. He found himself contemplating the reasons why he might abandon his efforts.
In a recent radio interview with Greg James, I found myself in awe when he shared the heartwarming tale of a courageous 12-year-old who donated her savings while battling chemotherapy. As I listened, I couldn’t help but feel humbled by her selflessness and resilience. It struck me profoundly that this young girl was facing hardships far beyond my own experiences.
There are countless other acts of kindness I can barely conceive, yet she’s giving away her wealth, while I sit here pondering my own inability to contribute similarly.

He mentioned: ‘It was then that I collapsed, became emotional, and couldn’t utter a word on the radio. Yet, that tiny guardian angel inspired me to rise up and carry on.’
On his Instagram Story, Jamie shared thoughts with his followers about sharing personal experiences, writing: “I must admit, I haven’t quite returned to my usual self since finishing the challenge, but I want you all to know that no matter where you are or what challenges you face, remember – you’re never alone. People have incredible capacity for compassion and when we stand together, the world becomes a much more hopeful place.
‘It’s ok to admit when you’re not OK – in fact it’s more than OK, it’s incredibly strong’.
After Jamie shared a string of foot photos, he was on his way to recovery following the ultra marathon.
Initially posting an image of his inflamed feet after a run, it turned out well for Jamie since he informed his 1.5 million followers that the swelling in his feet was decreasing day by day, indicating a progress toward recovery.
Taking a close-up photo highlighting his darkened toenail, he commented: ‘Team, things are improving!’
A few days ago, I shared an unflattering photo on my Instagram Stories, showcasing my feet that looked quite the worse for wear. They were swollen and one toenail was hanging on by a thread, about to come off entirely.
Instead of referencing Hobbits, he expressed it this way: “My feet have ballooned up! They’re bruised and my toenail is on the verge of detaching.
‘They look a little bit like hobbit feet. Ones thing for sure they aren’t looking pretty’.
Additionally, Jamie disclosed that a severely irritated “penis with friction burns” was among the various injuries he endured during the competition.
In the most recent episode of their NewlyWeds podcast, Jamie discussed an incident in his video diary from a run where he mentioned using Vaseline due to injuring both his private area and feet.
He mentioned that his feet are hurting due to blisters, and one of his toenails has turned black, which isn’t very appealing.

In a straightforward manner, here’s how you could rephrase the sentence: “I developed an uncomfortable friction in the most sensitive area, which happened to be on my penis. So, I needed to apply petroleum jelly to alleviate it.
After completing the race, he made an appearance on Comic Relief’s live broadcast, limping onto the stage. He then shared with hosts Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett that he wasn’t feeling great, saying “I’m not doing so well” and lightheartedly remarked, “I should have opted for a train ride instead.
Sophie, aged 30, expressed that Jamie was her “admired hero” in an emotional tribute following his successful race completion.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday Sophie wrote: ‘My hero, that I now get to share with the world.
The courage, sincerity, openness, and compassion that shine through in your actions are qualities I witness consistently, but now they’re on display for all to admire, and it fills me with immense pride to see those traits reflected in you.
Regardless of your daily assertions that you couldn’t accomplish it, and although my instincts urged me to dissuade you, I was convinced you’d finish the task due to your unwavering determination. And true to form, you didn’t abandon it.
It seems like you’ve demonstrated that you possess more strength than you realize, more courage than you acknowledge, and the ability to accomplish anything when you set your intentions. I adore you deeply and always feel immense pride in what you do.
