Jane McDonald Lists £1M Yorkshire Home After Partner’s Passing
Even though she’s never strayed far beyond her cherished Yorkshire, she went ahead and produced a TV program focusing on that very county.
However, it appears that Jane McDonald could be moving to a new address since she’s putting her £1 million bungalow on the market, which comes four years after her partner Eddie Rothe passed away from lung cancer.
For 18 years now, the singer who hails from that small town and first gained fame performing at local taverns, has resided in that house.
Since 2022, Jane and her close companion, Sue Ravey, have been residing together in their beautifully remodeled bungalow. Over the past few years, it underwent a substantial transformation featuring an expansive open-concept kitchen, stunning vistas of the garden from nearly every angle, and spacious walk-in wardrobes.
Last year, I subtly suggested a change when I shared with The Times, “During the lockdown, I transformed our bungalow into a full-fledged home.
Initially, I completed all the tasks and it turned out beautifully, yet now it’s overwhelmingly spacious. All I seem to be doing is cleaning. It appears that I’ll opt for a smaller space next time. The ocean seems to be whispering my name.

Back in 2007, a five-bedroom house was purchased for approximately £485,000, while it cost around £205,000 back in 1998. Currently, the property’s value has risen to about £1 million.
It has four bathrooms as well as a conservatory and a gym.
Jane, 62, who grew up not far from her house, has always stayed true to her roots.
In 2022 she presented a series called My Love Letter to Yorkshire.
Speaking about her cherished hometown, she expressed that it holds a special place in her heart. She yearns for it when she’s away, takes immense pride in its heritage, and defends it with fervor.
‘No matter where I was, I always tried to get in a mention of Wakefield – or Wakey as I call it.
Because I wanted everyone to know about my beautiful home city and the county of Yorkshire beyond.’
On a weekday, she was deeply engaged in her community activities, and on Wednesday, she unveiled a brand-new £6 million MRI facility at Wakefield’s Pinderfields Hospital.

Being a devoted resident of Wakefield, I have a strong affection for our community hospital trust, as I understand its significance,” she expressed.
At last, we’ve arrived! Today marks the grand opening of our exceptional MRI diagnostic center, a vital resource not just for Wakefield, but also for its neighboring communities. Let’s celebrate with the ribbon-cutting ceremony!
Today’s ribbon-cutting marks a significant leap in providing top-notch healthcare services to our patients. Let’s all feel proud, as this is a momentous achievement not just for us but also for our entire community.
Previously, her former spouse, Henrik Brixen, had suggested a move to London following their divorce in 2003. However, she opted against it, preferring to remain in Yorkshire instead.
