Liam Payne’s Sister Ruth Shares Heart-Wrenching Tribute Six Months After His Death

On the six-month mark since Liam Payne’s passing, his sister paid an emotional tribute to him online.

On October 16, the singer from the band One Direction passed away at the age of 31 following a fall from a balcony at his hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The balcony was situated on the third floor and he fell approximately 45 feet.

On her social media platform, Ruth Gibbins, his sister, posted heartfelt recollections about the musician in a touching tribute. However, she confessed that life without him has proven to be unbearable.

She wrote: ‘Six months, half a year without you?!

Even now, my mind yearns for you relentlessly. Each sunrise finds me in a struggle, as if submerged beneath the ocean waves, desperately trying to catch a breath of relief that seems perpetually elusive.

In your absence, I struggle to carry on, so I persist for the time being. I try to find humor or a reason to smile in appropriate moments, but truthfully, it feels draining, as my longing to connect with you remains strong.

In brief moments where I permit feelings other than sorrow, I genuinely smile at recollections of us, such as last year when we were hysterically laughing at our attempts to replicate something from YouTube. However, all memories carry a hint of sadness due to the injustice that we can’t create new ones together.

Occasionally, I catch yourself chuckling as if watching me search for you, much like Whoopi Goldberg’s character in “Ghost.” Yet, I sense your presence in various forms, guiding me and helping me find my way again.

Despite the confusion I feel about the turn of events and its permanence, let me assure you that my unwavering efforts for you will continue without end.

My longing for you echoes in both silence and outburst, it permeates every moment we’re apart. My love for you surpasses what mere words or tears can convey, yet I trust you understand this profoundly.

‘For now, I’ll meet you in my dreams.’

Additionally, Ruth posted an old picture featuring both individuals where Liam is seen in a zip-up sweater and Ruth is sporting a leopard-print dress.

Six months back, the authorities discovered Liam’s lifeless body after he fell off a third-story balcony in Buenos Aires.

On October 31, there was a touching tribute as he was buried, following the return of his remains to the United Kingdom. All four members of One Direction were present at the funeral service for him.

Three days after his death, Ruth paid a heart-wrenching tribute to the star on Instagram.

On Instagram, she posted: ‘I can’t believe it’s true. Although I’ve often shared proud moments about Liam in the public eye, I rarely discussed our sibling life.’

Liam is my dearest friend; there’s no one else who can make me laugh quite like him. His impersonations always leave me in stitches, and he gets a kick out of making me laugh so hard.

Or:

Liam is my closest buddy, nobody else can make me chuckle as much as he does. Watching his impressions never fails to tickle my funny bone, and it’s clear that he enjoys seeing me in splits.

Ruth admitted that she started learning to drive once Liam made it to the live shows on X Factor at age 17, because she hated the idea of not being able to reach him.

She went on saying, “Every day after my job ended, I’d drive over for tea with him, mostly to chat. One particular month, the hotel happened to be next to a Wagamama’s, and he seemed to eat there at all hours – breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

I particularly enjoyed driving him home from work during our early days, particularly following concerts, hastily escaping venues and events. Liam would often connect his phone to share with me the fresh tracks he was composing for his upcoming albums.

Liam was deeply fond of One Direction, cherished his siblings, and frequently discussed this with us at length. He’d often immerse himself in playing one hit after another from their unreleased repertoire, creating our own little impromptu One Direction performance sessions.

As a reliable friend, Liam felt confident that he could reach out to me anytime, day or night, knowing I’d be there to answer or rush to his aid if needed. Our conversations were filled with my laughter at his creative ideas and future exploits, discussions about his strategies, and problem-solving sessions, but they always concluded with heartfelt expressions of love and longing: “I love you, miss you” – “I love you too”.

Born with the innate rhythm flowing through my being, it was evident since my tender years that I possessed a unique talent destined for stardom. Engrossed in my melodies, I find myself captivated for hours on end – a fortunate circumstance indeed, given my unrelenting passion for song!

I always find myself charmed by the expression he has when presenting fresh tunes; he would urge me to ‘hear loudly’, then flash a beaming smile, clearly pleased with his creations.

I jot down reminders about things I need to share with Liam on my phone, just in case he’s been busy and out of reach for a while. It seems appropriate that I bring these updates up now.

Hey, Li, I can hardly believe my eyes! It feels like a whirlwind swept you away, leaving me dumbfounded. I just can’t wrap my head around it. Where in the world have you disappeared to?

I appreciate you the most because of your knack for making me laugh; nowhere else do I laugh as heartily as I do in your company.

I believe the world didn’t always treat you fairly or kindly, and it seemed like you had to fight especially hard in recent years to deal with whatever challenges came your way.

Oh, dearest Artist, I believe the essence of your heart was always to be embraced and bring joy through your melodies. Yet, you carried a whisper of self-doubt, convinced that you weren’t worthy enough. Know this now: your work has ignited an unparalleled outpouring of affection from countless souls who found solace in the rhythm of your tunes. May you, somewhere beyond the veil, feel the warmth and love you never experienced in life.

Regrettably, I wasn’t able to prevent what happened. One final thing I want to make clear is that I’m always here for you whenever you might need me. If there was a journey to the farthest reaches of the cosmos and it could help bring you back, I would take it without hesitation.

A month ago, it became clear that due to the demise of his former bandmate, Louis Tomlinson can no longer rejoin One Direction.

The former pop sensation, aged 33, reportedly feels disheartened by speculations that the remaining bandmates might perform together once more, as the unfortunate incident of falling from a balcony seems to mark the end of their past achievements.

It was proposed that the boy band would perform at this year’s Brit Awards as a last tribute to their deceased friend, but allegedly declined the invitation. According to sources, they fear that their performance might overshadow the memory of Liam during the event.

It’s said that Louis has shifted his attention away from the group, instead concentrating on expanding his fashion line while also performing as a solo act during tours.

Before conducting an interview with the composer of the hit “Back to You,” it was made clear by his representative that there had been rumors circulating that “the boys might reunite during the Brit Awards for Liam.

They remarked that Louis was feeling utterly disheartened because he wouldn’t be able to join the band on stage for singing, given the recent events.

It has been asserted by their friends that the emotional strain experienced during their teenage touring years has additionally influenced their choice to stay apart and not reform as a band.

Reports indicate that the British group expressed no curiosity whatsoever when the committee proposed a potential performance to them.

Louis and Zayn Malik are reportedly still in contact, having been part of a three-piece group along with Liam Payne, even though they appear to have distanced themselves from Harry Styles. Niall Horan is thought to have shifted his focus and now co-manages a golfers’ talent agency while also pursuing a solo career.

At his funeral, we found ourselves reunited, yet our conversations as a collective remained absent, even in those poignant moments of reflection and remembrance.

According to a source who spoke with Katie Hind from The Mail, they recall joyful moments, especially from the initial phase, but as time went on, it turned quite unpleasant, and eventually, they developed a disdain for One Direction.

‘There’s no way they would get back on that stage, even Liam’s death wasn’t enough.’
