Mercedes-Benz Goes Retro With the G-Class Edition STRONGER THAN THE 1980s

Following its exhibition in Germany last week showcasing automotive icons from the ’90s, Mercedes-Benz has revealed a special edition G-Class, titled the Mercedes-Benz G-Class Edition STRONGER THAN THE ’80s. This vehicle is a tribute to the pioneering endeavors of Mercedes-Benz in the 1980s. The classic W460-series Geländewagen, which formed the basis for the G-Class’s future achievements, serves as inspiration for this new model.

The newly launched G-Class borrows colors and design elements from its original model. Two color options, MANUFAKTUR agave green solid and MANUFAKTUR Colorado beige solid, which were initial paint choices for the G-Class, are available to customers. Furthermore, the turn signal indicators have been given the iconic orange tone from that period, while the vehicle’s bumpers, flared wheel arches, exterior mirrors, and night black magno finish on these parts replicate the look of the first G-Class.

Upon opening the car doors, a logo projector displays the message “G-STRONGER THAN TIME,” greeting drivers and passengers warmly. The central part of the black leather seats is adorned with an ’80s-style dove grey fabric, and the passenger handle grip bears the words “STRONGER THAN THE 1980s.” The “Schöckl Proved” emblem, styled in an iconic ’80s design, is placed on the B-pillar, and each vehicle is tagged with a “1 of 460” mark (referencing the original W460-series) on the console.

You can now place an order for the robust Mercedes-Benz G-Class Edition, which harks back to the ’80s, with prices kicking off at £152,815 GBP. Browse through the images in the gallery above to get a feel for its design.
