Steven Tyler’s Daughters Reveal Shocking Moment They Met!

Liv Tyler and her sister, Mia, discovered for the first time when they met that they were actually siblings.

47-year-old actor from The Lord of the Rings series and the 46-year-old model reminisced about their first encounter in an episode of the Sibling Revelry podcast hosted by Kate Hudson and Oliver Hudson.

In different homes due to their separate upbringings, the half-sisters of Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, both aged 8 and 9 respectively, were eventually reunited when their mothers, Bebe Buell and Cyrinda Foxe, took them to an Aerosmith concert.

Liv reminisced about an extraordinary instance, “I can still picture myself standing there, observing them play, staring and noticing a girl who was my spitting image.” She further explained, “It felt as if I was gazing into a mirror, seeing a reflection of myself twice over.

Liv said that her mother then started crying, as she asked her ‘is Steven my dad?’ 

Mia explained, ‘I recall that there were no children backstage that evening. As a result, we played with great enthusiasm. We found ourselves in the VIP section, located outside of the green rooms, and we were simply being typical eight and nine-year-olds. Suddenly, a woman fan approached us and exclaimed, “oh my goodness, you girls are adorable! Are you sisters?”‘

Living person (Liv) shared about the intricate aspects of her upbringing, revealing that for a challenging phase in her father’s abstinence, she spent part of her childhood under the care of her grandparents in Maine.

Therefore, she thought Todd Rundgren was her father because he served as a fatherly figure and signed her birth certificate in 1977.

Liv revealed she learned about her parentage and her sister Mia in quick succession.

On the specific night Mia referred to, Aerosmith had Guns n’ Roses as their opening act. The performance kicked off with the tune ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. Our journey led us to the concert venue, known as Great Woods.

Later, Liv became quite emotional: “We secured tickets, attended the show, and found ourselves in the crowd, standing tall. Guns n’ Roses were performing live, and I couldn’t contain my excitement since I’ve always been a big fan of them. On the side of the stage, there was a girl standing there.

Mia stated that Axl Rose often dedicated “Sweet Child o’ Mine” to her during every tour, and he would typically invite her onstage saying, “This one is for you again.

Liv then remembered that both she and Mia ‘had the same outfit on.’

In our case, we’d sported identical spiral curls and wore bold pink lipstick reminiscent of a winter frost. Our attire consisted of Aerosmith concert tees paired with black leggings and Reebok high-tops.

We both rocked spiral perms and bright pink lipstick that looked like winter frost. We wore Aerosmith concert t-shirts, black leggings, and Reebok high tops on our feet.

‘I looked and I was like, wait, that’s me. It was really weird.’

Her mom then told her the truth.  

As I turned to look at my mom, tears began streaming down her face. She was sobbing uncontrollably, and I asked, “Is Steven really my father?” This question seemed to break something inside of her, and she quickly led me over to a bench in the outdoor amphitheater. There, she shared with me the entire story in a heartfelt and moving manner.

After she came home from the concert, Liv recalled coming to terms with the news.

Initially, there were multiple waves. The initial surge was disbelief. Following the event at the concert, we returned home to find my mother had positioned a comfortable chair near a window. I vividly recall spending what seemed like an extended period of time, possibly three days, but more likely three hours, seated in that position.

She then came ‘to this conclusion’ of ‘wow, I have two dads and all this love.’

‘I just was really excited about it because they’re all so different and so lovely.’

As Liv nurtured bonds with her biological dad and half-sibling, she also acknowledged the emotional toll this discovery took on Todd, who had been like a father to her.

Liv shared that maintaining contact with Rundgren remains challenging, as it continues to be tough and painful for her. Despite this, she harbors deep affection for him, as he is the father of her brothers, and they once formed a complete family together.

Previously, Liv expressed her gratitude to Todd for stepping up as a mentor-like figure in her life, as reported by The Guardian.

It carries significant weight when a man declares, ‘I may not be her biological father, but I aspire to be her dad.’ Despite not being romantically involved with my mother, he was consistently a supportive and loving presence in my life.

Buell became unexpectedly pregnant from a brief relationship with Tyler in 1976. 

Steven went on to marry Mia’s mom Cyrinda in 1978. They divorced in 1987. 

Beyond Liv and Mia, my heart skips a beat whenever I mention Chelsea and her brother Taj, the precious offspring of my beloved Steven and his remarkable partner, Teresa Barrick. They completed our family in the most beautiful way possible.
