Home and Away Star’s Hollywood Dream
Achieving a repeated role on Australian television series titans Neighbours or Home and Away served as an initiation of sorts for aspiring actors, propelling many of them to prominence within the industry.
Sarah Roberts appeared to consider it more of a test than an introduction, since she successfully secured roles in two productions. Her latest appearance was portraying Willow Harris on Home and Away from 2017 until 2021.
Or:
Sarah Roberts saw it as something to conquer rather than a rite of passage, as she scored parts in two shows, most recently playing Willow Harris on Home and Away between 2017 and 2021.
Currently, the actress is preparing for her role in season two of the Stan Original series “Scrublands.” Sarah recently shared with Daily Mail Australia her reasons for maintaining friendships with her previous soap opera castmates and her future plans to venture into Hollywood.
Sarah mentioned that one of her closest friends was a co-star from the show Neighbours, a friendship that dates back quite a while. Additionally, another dear friend of hers, Emily Weir, is originally from Home and Away.
I’ve become acquainted with many of the latest Home and Away actors, as Emily is pals with them, and we often socialize in groups.
Last December, I celebrated my 40th birthday with a bash on a Sydney Harbour boat. The event was attended by many stars from the popular TV series, Home and Away. I cherish my relationships deeply and find myself closely connected to others.
Sarah explained that one significant factor keeping her connected with her ex-castmates from soap operas, even after four years since leaving such productions, stems from the intense vulnerability that actors display towards one another while filming.
She pointed out that by revealing your deepest, intimate details, you both build an immense amount of trust. This level of trust can foster robust friendships, she added.
Regarding future plans for the TV personality, Sarah mentioned that she aims to be part of the upcoming major HBO production in Hollywood. She also expressed a desire for a role that would give her an opportunity to fully immerse herself, or something she can really delve deep into.
She expressed her aspiration as follows: ‘My upcoming ambition is securing a long-term TV role, specifically a five-year contract. Ideally, this role would be one that offers me the opportunity to fully develop a character. I’m not certain if I’d prefer another soap opera.’
I can’t wait to jump into Season 3 of Scrublands! There’s something special about reuniting with the same talented cast and crew. I feel like I’m catching up with old friends whenever we work together.
If asked if she would return to star in Home and Away even though she doesn’t prefer soap operas, she replied: “Absolutely! I’d be delighted. I would actually come back for extended appearances on both Home and Away and Neighbors.
It seems that Neighbours isn’t airing any longer, correct? I’ve never been part of a lengthy American television series before. Consequently, I’d be thrilled to star in a show on HBO or something similar instead.
It’s my heartfelt wish to work on a project similar to Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones; such an opportunity would truly feel like a dream come true for me.

Sarah shared that the idea of achieving success in Hollywood had long been a cherished aspiration of hers, and she disclosed that she came very near to securing roles on prominent TV series during her time residing in the United States.
She shared that she wasn’t able to secure the roles, which led her to book Home and Away instead. Her goal has always been to work consistently in Australia, and going back has long been a dream of hers.
I’m eagerly looking forward to directing an American television series… At present, I have a relatively open schedule… It might be the United States that I direct next, given the opportunity.
Making an action movie is something I’m really passionate about, and it’s definitely at the top of my wish list. With my background as a dancer, I enjoy mastering choreography and pushing my physical abilities. It gives me an incredible sense of life.
Sarah is all set to return as reporter Beth Ramachandran in the forthcoming second season of the original Stan series, Scrublands.
As someone who appreciates intelligence and sharp intellect, I can genuinely say that the character I portray is remarkably similar to Beth in those aspects. It’s rare for me to encounter roles that demand such quick-wittedness, so it’s a refreshing challenge.
It’s not just her that I’m attracted to, but also the nature of her job. As a crime reporter, she uncovers stories that I find incredibly fascinating. I’m captivated by the complexities and mysteries of human behavior as well.
